Spread the word! You and your club members will team up to distribute lifesaving fire safety information throughout your community You Can help! The American Red Cross responds to over 170 fires a day. By spreading the word on fire safety, you can reduce this number and help keep people safe.
Take it personal! Disaster Speaks is a powerful event that gives you the opportunity to personalize disaster. Large boxes will represent homes lost and will include stories about someone who has made the unthinkable journey through disaster. Share the steps you will take to become prepared with your classmates. Use your voice! By holding a Disaster Speaks event at your school, you can educate your classmates on Red Cross disaster services and empower them to take control before a disaster strikes.
Provide packages of hope Totes of Hope are care kits full of essential, personal care items for homeless veterans. Show gratitude To veterans that served our country through this fun event. Totes of Hope is a personal care kit drive in which items for homeless veterans are collected, assembled in a backpack or tote bag, and distributed through Veteran s hospitals or veterans outreach programs. The care kits should also include a short, personal note of thanks.

Red Cross Monsterguard App The free Monster Guard: Prepare for Emergencies App is a game that can help save lives. Children between the ages or 7 to 11 learn ways to stay safe in home fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and other disasters by role playing as different monster characters. People can go to redcross.org/monsterguard or text MONSTER to 90999 for a direct link to download the app. Children should ask a parent or guardian for permission to download the app. The Monster Guard App game is a complement to The Pillowcase Project. Both are sponsored by Disney.
