UNITY 2 a state-of-the-art audiological integrated diagnostic and fitting system Hearing care professionals, and Siemens, have the same important goal: to help people with hearing loss. That s why at Siemens we continue to develop the audiological diagnostic and fitting systems hearing care professionals need for their patients. And that s why we created UNITY 2. The easy to use PC-based system allows the integration of all testing and fitting tasks, offering the power to create the best possible hearing instrument fitting. Modular, portable, in tune with your workflow. Who said state-of-the-art can t be simple to use? 2 3

Modular, flexible UNITY 2 s modular but integrated design means that the system can be tailored to meet individual requirements. This offers the flexibility of using all modules or different combinations of control unit and docking station. Portable The compact control unit (all housings are anodised aluminium) can be connected easily to UNITY 2 s docking station. No matter where it s needed, the UNITY 2 audiometer and REM control unit are ready to go! Simple UNITY 2 s unique, state-of-the-art design is the ultimate in simplicity. No messy wires and leads - it connects to a PC with just a single USB cable. All components have strong but simple connections. Supports your workflow It s faster: uses high-speed data links for quicker results. It s completely integrated: can be used with other Siemens systems like CONNEXX, Practice Navigator (or any other patient management system), and NOAH 3 compatible hardware or software modules. It s more efficient: all system data is stored and shared in a common database saving time and storage while eliminating data duplication. UNITY 2 supports processes from diagnostics to fitting. 4 5

Audiometer Module UNITY 2 s audiometer module brings together the functions of a traditional 2-channel audiometer with all the advantages of a PC-controlled audiometer. Like all UNITY 2 modules, the audiometer can be used separately. The UNITY 2 audiometer is a full 2-channel clinical system supporting conventional as well as high-frequency tone audiometry, insert earphones and complete speech testing. UNITY 2 includes ample choice of audiometric symbols (including British BSA symbols), audiogram comparison either between ears or with existing audiograms and a new silent mode panel feature to avoid unwanted signals to the patient. External input and output jacks are available to connect the audiometer modules to your PC s CD-ROM drive, a CD player or speech microphone. Also, the integrated free-field amplifier drives almost any conventional free-field speaker system. // mobile // // stationary // Probe Microphone Module Hearing UNITY 2 is the premier fitting verification tool available today it equips the user with the power and flexibility to perform precise, accurate hearing instrument fittings, quickly and easily. The system offers the possibility to plug in two probe microphones. Integration means no double entry of audiometric data UNITY 2 takes the audiometric test information directly from the NOAH 3 database to calculate fitting targets. All standard fitting formulae are available. UNITY 2 enables the measuring of occlusion effects and the real-ear-to-coupler difference for target adjustment during paediatric fittings. In addition, the UNITY 2 probe mic module provides direct access to CONNEXX through its REM-Link, so real-time measures and adjustments on hearing instruments can be made. Instrument Analyser An adapter set is available separately and allows coupler measurements on the hearing instrument in a quiet environment Can be used without the test box making it ideal for home visits. The highly flexible tube allows quick and precise fixation of the Unity 2 probe on the customer's ear. A plug-in earpiece is integrated into the housing of the probe and enables comfortable RECD measurements even when no earpiece is available. The feature allows the simultaneous measurement of three curves: speech peaks, average speech and soft speech. Unity 2 is the first test system in the world to provide this unique feature! UNITY 2 s hearing instrument analyser module is a state-of-the-art hearing instrument test and measurement system. UNITY 2 provides the power and flexibility to make precise, accurate hearing instrument functionality tests including automatic routines. The software allows storage of multiple measurement curves and provides detailed text descriptions of test parameter settings, all with just the click of the mouse. A wide variety of test signals are also available, including ICRA, Chirp and ILTASS signals for testing digital hearing instruments. The extremely customisable software allows the user to adapt every single test setting to better reflect particular workflow.
