For You There are lots of ways that people fundraise for us. Here's some ideas for you as an individual. We are always looking for weird and wonderful fundraising ideas the more unusual, the better! Let us know what you re up to and we can promote your efforts on social media and provide you with branded promotional items. Join us From running challenges to Antiques and Afternoon Tea we have a calendar of fundraising events throughout the year that you can join in with. See our website for more details and how to sign up: www.edwardstrust.org.uk Edward s Trust merchandising We have a range of merchandise available including T-shirts, wristbands and bags, plus Christmas items. For more details and to order, please email fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk Get sponsored Do something you always wished you could do, like a long walk or bike ride in your favourite part of Britain. Or do something that will challenge you an abseil or even shaving your head! The list is endless. A refreshing idea A refreshing cuppa and a slice of cake is everyone s favourite treat. How about organising a coffee morning or a cake sale? The next Jamie Oliver or Nigella Lawson? If you re a foodie or would-be chef, you could host a dinner party. Or organise your own Come Dine With Me competition. Relax Fundraising isn t all hard work, though. How about a DIY spa or pamper evening with your friends or family? Get the face masks out and maybe even the prosecco...

For Corporates As part of their social value, large businesses can support Edward s Trust in a wide variety of ways. Make Edward s Trust your charity of the year This could involve members of staff fundraising, staff volunteering with practical support and talking about us as much as you can. Collection tins are available to place in secure premises. Payroll Giving Pennies from Heaven Help your staff donate directly from their pay. Pennies from Heaven collects the pence from employee s monthly salary for us, rounding their pay down to the nearest pound (for businesses with over 200 employees). Join in with us From running challenges to Antiques and Afternoon Tea we have a calendar of fundraising events throughout the year that employees can join in with. Coffee mornings and cake sales Coffee mornings and cakes sales are a great way of bringing employees together. Contact us on fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk for information and leaflets that you can give out as part of your morning/day. Match funding Does your company have a match funding scheme? If so, you could match fund an employee s fundraising successes. With Gift Aid added on as well, the impact that one employee can make is greater than they could have alone. Host an event Fancy a golf day? Or even a glamorous ball? As well as team building and celebrating your business s successes, use Edward s Trust as the perfect reason to organise a fun day or evening out for your employees or partners.

For Schools and Community Groups As part of your community outreach and events calendar you may want to consider supporting Edward s Trust Get sponsored Our calendar of fundraising events cater not just for individuals teams can also join in. Quizzes and raffles Whether you like to show off your knowledge or win prizes, quizzes and raffles are classic ways of raising money. Or you can combine them both we even have a tombola for you to borrow. Fetes, garden parties and balls These are always good fundraisers that everyone can get involved with. A nice cuppa and a slice of cake A classic way to fundraise. Contact us on fundraising@edwardstrust.org.uk for information and leaflets that you can give out as part of your morning/ day. Treat yourself A dinner cooked by the committee members? A wine and cheese night? Or a DIY spa evening? After all your hard work, you deserve it.

Fundraising in memory Many people find that remembering a loved one by making donations can be an uplifting experience. It can also be fitting to the memory of someone who helped others. Sarah s Story On 25th March 2006, I lost my precious little boy who was 5. Now, some years on the pain is still there, but so are the memories of the treasured time spent together. I decided to create a Tribute page for Dane on the Just Giving website. This was very easy to do, and I was able to create a link directly to Edward s Trust. This allows people to make donations to Dane s page, to acknowledge and remember him and also raise much needed funds. A Leaf for A Life If you have used Edward s Trust, you may want to buy A Leaf for A Life. The leaf will be inscribed with the name of your loved one, and hung in our garden at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, where you can visit for quiet contemplation. Tribute Pages You can set up a Just Giving page in memory of someone, just like Sarah did. From our Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/edwardstrust, select Raise money for us and then Remembering Someone Funerals One way to celebrate the life of someone special is by asking family and friends to donate to a charity instead of buying flowers. Funeral directors can organise a collection and ensure Edward s Trust receive the money, or you can set up and share a Just Giving page (see the instructions above). Legacies Could you help our families with a gift in your will? These gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax, which could be reduced further if you leave 10% or more to charity.
