Fundraising Ideas The feeling of accomplishing your fundraising goal is like none other. Obviously as a Team Captain you have a connection to Share and the services we provide; to keep those services going we rely on fundraising. For some, this could be the most intimidating part of the Team Captain s responsibilities. Well rest easy, here are some tips to help you get through. Set a Team Goal Let your Team Members help come up with the goal and have each member be responsible for achieving a percentage toward the goal. This gives Team members a sense of ownership and ultimately accomplishment when the Team Goal is met. Remember you are all in this together. Take the Lead Be the first to donate to your own campaign. If you don t believe in your own efforts, why should others? Making the lead gift in a campaign will show your dedication to the cause to all those who you ask for support. Get Personal Don t be afraid to share YOUR story. You became involved in Share for a reason and people will want to know what that is when you ask for their donation. Millions of people are affected by pregnancy and infant loss each year. Inevitably, you will come across someone who has needed, or possibly benefited from, Share s services. Personal connections drive giving. So don t miss this opportunity! Community Involvement Organize a bake sale or host car wash. Have a neighbor hood garages sale or raffle off a gift basket. There are lots of ways to get support from those who may not join you Team. Get creative and have fun! Workplace support Does your office have a Dress Down Day that employees pay to participate in? If not, start one and ask your human resource department if the money collected could be converted to a tax deductible donation to your 2015 Share Walk Team. Or see if your company will sponsor your Team with a certain pledge level per mile walked by the Team. Matching gifts are also a great way for business to show their support.
registration Encouraging attendance to the Share Walk for Remembrance & Hope is a vital component to being a Team Captain. We recommend recruiting 8 to 10 Team Members to join you on October 17 at Frontier Park, but there is no limit to the number of participants allowed. Just like with your fundraising efforts, ask friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers to walk with you. The presence of loved ones not only provides comfort to bereaved parents, but it makes the Share Walk a true community event. Managing your Team Member Registration is simple! Once you have your Team Page created, just forward the Event Registration Form URL to your group of contacts. When people register using this specific URL, their registration will be automatically linked to your Team Campaign. You will also be able to see a complete list of all those who have joined your team under the Event Registration on your Details page. (See below.) Your URL Your Team Members Registration opens July 1, 2015. To guarantee receipt of a Share Walk T-shirt in a specific size and to have a baby s name listed on the back of each t-shirt, registration must be completed by the Early Registration Deadline of September 1, 2015. It is important to note that donations DO NOT equal registrations and donors will not receive a commemorative t-shirt. These t-shirts are not sold and cannot be obtained any other way than through Share Walk Registration. If you have friends and family who want to support your team and want the event t-shirt, make sure they register! The dollars received by Share through registrations are contributed to your campaign goal and are equally as important as outright cash gifts.
