Parasite Suspensions in Formalin SECTION 1: IDENTIFICATION Parasite Suspensions Microbiologics, Inc. 200 Cooper Avenue North St. Cloud, Minnesota 56303 USA 320-253-1640 SECTION 2: HAZARDS INSTRUCTIONS Personnel coming in contact with the suspensions should be properly trained in the handling of biohazard material. The microorganisms presented in the suspensions are nonviable and do not pose a health threat. The microorganisms are nonviable due to formalin fixation. Formalin causes the following hazards: Combustible GHS Classification of Formalin: Flammable Liquids: Category 4 Acute Toxicity: Category 3 Skin Irritation: Category 3 Serious Eye Damage: Category 3 Skin Sensitization: Category 1 Carcinogenicity: Category 2 Specific Target Organ Toxicity Single Exposure: Category 2 Signal word: Danger Pictogram: Harmful if swallowed May cause an allergic skin reaction. May cause damage to eyes and other organs May cause breathing difficulty if inhaled Suspected of causing cancer. Destructive to mucous membranes and the respiratory tract Toxic if inhaled. IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician if you feel unwell. SECTION 3: COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Fecal matter Formalin, neutral buffered, 10% - Formaldehyde (CAS 50-00-0) approximately 4% - Methanol (CAS 67-56-1) 1-5% Parasite(s) SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES In the case of exposure, consult a physician. Inhalation If case of inhalation, move to fresh air, and keep in a comfortable position for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER, or consult a physician immediately. Skin contact In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with copious amounts of soap and water. Consult a physician. Take off contaminated clothing, and wash before reuse. Contaminated clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Eye contact In case of eye contact, rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Consult a physician immediately. Ingestion In case of ingestion, DO NOT induce vomiting. Rinse the mouth with water. Call a POISON CENTER, or consult a physician immediately. SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Keep away from all possible sources of ignition. In case of fire, use water spray, alcohol resistant foam, dry chemical or a carbon dioxide extinguisher. Self-contained breathing apparatuses may be necessary for fire-fighting, as carbon oxides are formed under fire conditions. SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Use personal protective equipment, which may include a self-contained breathing apparatus to avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ventilate the affected area, and evacuate all personnel. Remove any potential source of ignition. Avoid splashing of material..eng Rev D Page 2 of 5

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE Store in a well ventilated area. Keep the container tightly closed. Store locked up. SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT Use in a well ventilated area Gown, apron, or lab coat Chemical resistant gloves Protective glasses (for small volumes) or splash goggles Respiratory equipment may be needed when working with large volumes Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product SECTION 9: PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Flash Point: 85 C/185 F Vapor Pressure: 53 hpa (40 mmhg) at 39 C (102 F) Vapor Density: N/A Solubility in Water: completely miscible Density: 1.080 g/cm 3 Percent Volatile: N/A Evaporation Rate: N/A SECTION 10: STABILITY AND REACTIVITY This product is stable under normal temperatures and pressures. Avoid heat, flames, and sparks. SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION This product may irritate the nose, respiratory tract, and eyes. This product may cause pain, inflammation, and ulceration with vomiting, bloody urine, and gastrointestinal bleeding if swallowed. Dermal exposure may cause hardening or whitening of the skin. Formaldehyde: this is an OSHA related carcinogen that has been investigated as a reproductive effector, tumorigen and mutagen. Methanol: has been investigated as a reproductive effector, tumorigen and mutagen..eng Rev D Page 3 of 5

SECTION 12: ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION Formaldehyde is readily biodegradable. The products of this degradation are less toxic that the original product. Methanol may leach into the groundwater if released into the soil. This product should readily biodegrade both in the water and soil. Formalin solutions are toxic to aquatic life. This product should not be released into water or soil. SECTION 13: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Dispose of in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations SECTION 14: TRANSPORT INFORMATION This product is not a DOT regulated material. SECTION 15: REGULATORY INFORMATION California Prop 65: This product contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm in the state of California. OSHA considers this product hazardous.
