September 2010 August 2011 A full-time internship at a community mental health center. Training emphasized a psychoanalytic approach in working with clients who are chronically and severely mentally ill as well as training in cultural sensitivity to diversity. Internship included two successive external rotations. The first rotation was a placement at a welfare-to-work program conducting intakes and providing group therapy for clients with substance abuse disorders. The second rotation includes conducting intakes, assessment and treatment planning at the Psychiatric Emergency Services of San Francisco General Hospital.
