IDA Membership Categories IDA members come from many backgrounds, disciplines, and organizations and are connected by the shared commitment of creating economically vibrant and culturally stimulating downtowns and town centers in the U.S., Canada, and abroad. Non-Profit Organization Downtown organizations including Business Improvement Districts/Areas and other center city improvement organizations. Public Agency, State, Provincial, National Association Public agencies, units of government, state associations, and non-profit organizations whose interests include downtown development. Individual Individuals who are involved in downtown or center city improvement and who do not fall into any of the other categories. For-Profit Corporate/Business For-profit corporations and businesses involved in improving or enhancing downtowns. Academic Institutions or professionals, academic institutional subdivisions. Student Virtual Current full-time students with an interest in downtown development. Must provide copy of student ID. International Virtual Individuals or organizations outside of the United States and Canada who have an interest in downtown development. Membership Dues IDA employs a sliding scale for most categories of membership dues, as described below. All dues are billed and received in US dollars. All budget figures should be given in US dollars.
