AVOIDING THE 7 MAJOR MISTAKES PATIENTS MAKE BEFORE LIPO 1

7 MAJOR MISTAKES YOU WILL MAKE WHEN DECIDING TO HAVE LIPO As a consumer, it is inevitable that you will make mistakes. You are starting at ground zero, with little to no knowledge in this area. Unfortunately, there is a huge amount of confusing information as well misinformation in regards to Liposuction. Many sites will supply you with only bits of information, leaving you lost in your quest for more understanding of this high demand and high priced procedure. Bottom-line, it is very easy to make mistakes; this report will help you AVOID them. MISTAKE #1: NOT KNOWING ALL YOUR OPTIONS. Yes, this does mean doing your homework, at least as best you can. But as I stated above it is so difficult to have all your questions answered, and even more difficult to know all the questions you should ask. But, if you don t find out your options, there is a good chance you will make a mistake that you could pay for the rest of your life. Let me introduce you to Tamira. Tamira is a very bright, beautiful, and busy business woman in downtown Chicago. She wanted lipo to get rid of a little belly pooch. She found one doctor who offered her one solution. She was busy, didn t have the time to shop doctors or options and elected to have the procedure. Her result was substandard. She was left with lumps. They affected her business, making it impossible to wear and promote one of her business products, high end t- shirts. This affected her and her business so much that she elected to do her homework and seek a solution. She found our office and we were able to correct the problem with our gentle, yet thorough Tickle procedure. (You can see Tamira and her comments at www.zbodysculpt. com/videotestimonials). 2

MISTAKE #2: TRUSTING A PLASTIC SURGEON TO BE YOUR ONLY OPTION. Don t get me wrong, plastic surgeons are wonderful doctors; many are very talented and well trained. However, when it comes to body contouring, lipo, they will typically do it one way, usually using the traditional form of lipo suction. For most plastic surgeons, lipo is only a small part of their practice. Typically they will do all their procedures with you asleep and in an operating room. Their lipo procedures will be done in less than one hour; this speed tends to lend itself to chunking or debulking of fat without much regard to contouring. The result will often be similar to what Tamira received. What plastic surgeons do not want you to know about is the existence of cosmetic surgeons. Cosmetic surgeons are physicians who solely focus on body contouring, lipo, They are traditional specialists in other areas prior to specializing in cosmetic surgery. For example, I was an ObGyn for 20 years prior to switching specialties. Cosmetic surgeons usually perform their procedures in an office setting, with you totally awake. We tend to use the latest technologies to perform our procedures, and some of us have utilized multiple technologies, always looking for the safest and most thorough technology available. I, myself, have trialed every form of office- based lipo technology available and, now in my seventh year, I have determined that Tickle Lipo is the safest, most gentle and most thorough form of lipo available to my patients, and I use it exclusively. 3

MISTAKE #3: CHOOSING GENERAL ANESTHESIA VS. LOCAL ANESTHESIA More people have died from general anesthesia in one year as compared to the 30 years that local anesthesia has been around for office based lipo procedures; if choosing to increase your risk of death isn t a major mistake, than I don t know what is. Putting the risk of dying aside, having general anesthesia usually means the procedure will be performed in an OR setting in a hospital or surgery center, which will add to the price of your procedure, (with facility and anesthesiologist fees to be added in) Beyond that, there are the after effects of the anesthesia, which for some will include an increase in post- op nausea and vomiting. General anesthesia usually means you will be undergoing tradition liposuction, therefore more trauma, more downtime, more pain, and a higher chance of substandard body contouring. And lastly, I can t tell you how many times I have heard from patients about areas that were supposed to be done at time of procedure, paid for, and were either inadequately done or seemingly not done at all. When you are awake, you know what areas are done and, if you wish, you can see how much was removed from each area. 4

MISTAKE #4: OPTING FOR EXCESSIVE TRAUMA After one simple question you will know whether you are choosing excessive trauma or not. That questionis: Doctor, how do you perform your liposuction procedure, what type of instrument or machine do you use? If their answer is the usual way or traditional way or they insist on you being asleep for the procedure, you can bet your last paycheck that you are opting for the excessive trauma way as well. If the don t describe any advanced technology to you, double your previous bet, because you justwon the excessive trauma way again. Traditional liposuction uses large, sharp instruments, hooked to suction, to cut and suck large chunks of fat along with bits of blood vessels, nerves and skin support structures. Chunking fat and cutting skin support structures will increase your chances of skin waviness and lumps after healing. Severing blood vessels will cause bleeding and significant increase in bruising. Nicking nerves will lead to odd or persistent numbness or sensation. Tickle Lipo utilizes instruments at least ½ to1/3 the size of traditional instruments. There are no sharp edges so structures cannot be chunked, cut, severed or nicked. The gentle rotation/ vibration of the Tickle machine causes the emulsification of fat and avoids significant damage to blood vessels, nerves and skin support structures. There is no need to settle for excessive trauma when having lipo! 5

MISTAKE #5: CHOOSING TO GET BURNED There are two types of newer technologies that your risk of burns to skin and other skin structures. One technology is based on ultrasound waves and is called VASER. The VASER instrument is vibrating at ultrasonic frequencies, which runs excessively hot. In fact, 6 ½ years ago, when I was taught the VASER, we were warned that based on how much numbing fluid we put in, we could only vaser for so many minutes per volume used. If we went beyond those limits we would cause burns. The problem was, even if you stayed well within the limits dictated by the company, burning was still a possibility. I eventually returned this technology because I wanted to minimize any risk for my patients. The other technology that increases your risk of burns is all the laser liposuction machines. Lasers also run excessively hot and if the doctor is not careful, burns to skin and other skin support structures are common. Again, after trialing all the laser wavelengths, I felt that the rewards, the results obtained, were not worth the risks to my patients. The Tickle Lipo machine uses infrasonic vibration, a low frequency vibration that runs cool. There is NO chance of burning with this technology. The safety of my patients is paramount. I sold my lasers. 6

MISTAKE #6: OPTING FOR PROLONGED HEALING DELAYING YOUR END RESULT The more traumatic the procedure that you have, the more burning of tissue that you experience, the longerit will take for your body to heal itself post procedure. The usual length of time it will take for you to realize your end result when choosing these methods, is a minimum of 3 months, more commonly 6 months or longer. Who wants to wait that long? And, after waiting that long, wouldn t it be depressing to find out that you received a substandard result? Choosing a procedure that has less trauma, does not cause burning, will typically lead to a final result within one month of the procedure, sometimes less. After that period of time, all that s left in the healing process is ongoing collagen formation which adds to skin tightening and a further improvement in your result. Tickle Lipo delivers on the promise of significantly less trauma and no burning which leads to a quicker end result. 7

MISTAKE #7: CHOOSING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY FOOLISHLY The end result of making one or all of the six previous mistakes is that you chose to make mistake #7, to blow your money unnecessarily. You are spending your hard earned money to have a fairly expensive and elective procedure. No one has put a gun to your head and forced you to hand over your money. You did it knowingly and willingly. Unless you just have way too much money and you have a strong desire to give it away to the first doctor you cross paths with, you need to understand and AVOID mistakes #1-6. If you don t, then mistake #7 is inevitable. Avoiding mistakes #1-7 will invariably help you achieve a very satisfying result. This will improve your self- image, enhance your self- esteem and boost your self- confidence. You will reenergize your femininity and sensuality. You will be happier!!!
