The Staff and Residents of Province Place of Maryview invite you to our Christmas Open House Sunday, December 10th from 2 to 4 PM Please join us for holiday music and light refreshments. RSVP to 757-673-9600 The Staff of Province Place of Maryview wishes you and yours a very joyous and blest Christmas. Please join us throughout the month of December as we celebrate the holiday together! See page 5 for a list of great holiday events.

Left: We started decorating right after Thanksgiving and are looking forward to all the visitors we will have in December! Right: Rick Germain has morphed into a real one man band! Here he is playing the guitar and Kazoo during one of our Singing Circle afternoons. When Vanessa Cole led A to Z University, there was lots of DRAMA in the house! Secrets! Arguing! Tug of War! So glad we were ACTING!!!!!!! What Fun!!!!!

A Visit from Western Branch Academy Students We made Oreo cookie turkeys and played Thanksgiving Bingo, then posed for a great group picture! The Peninsula Jack and Jill Club came by to share a craft - pinecone turkeys, some laughs, some hugs and quarters!! The quarters were a donation for Bingo prizes for the residents Bingo games. It was a great morning with students, moms, and our residents!

Cinderella Halloween Party 2017 Our party had drama, royalty, and lots of laughter. In the end, the Royal Jester was able to find his Princess after searching high and low for her. Wonder Woman stopped in to help keep order in the kingdom! And the Fairy Godmother tried meet all the wishes! Thank you staff and volunteers for making the day so fun!

We had our annual Thanksgiving Desert Social on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a variety of delicious pies, the great music of Adam Gicz and a wonderful conversation. We would enjoy your company!!

The Portsmouth Master Gardeners brought a program on cranberries on their visit in November. We not only learned about cranberries, we got to taste test Crasins (dried cranberries) and cranberry muffins. They brought a wonderful craft picture frame craft for us to do! The Music Staff students gave two recitals for us in late October. In the final recital the students dressed in Halloween costumes! We had some fun getting ready for our Halloween Happy Hour. We made Jack-o-lanterns out of colorful peppers and filled them with fresh veggies!

Our friend Frank Cubillo (aka Frank sings Frank) serenaded us with some great Frank Sinatra tunes and he even took Trudy Roberts for a spin around the dance floor. One Sunday in November we tried an old fashioned Hymn Sing. By the looks of the turnout, we will be doing that again. What a joy to sing the old hymns we grew up with! Friends and families of our residents: Please be aware of those around you as you leave the building. We have some residents who have Wander Guard bracelets on to protect them from leaving the building and becoming lost. Please do not allow residents to follow you out of the building if the door alarm is sounding. We appreciate your attention to this safety matter. We love our residents!
