Check plan for varaton, equpment used and number of repettons 2. Explan reason for the exercse eg ths exercse s to help strengthen the muscle at the back your thgh (hamstrng) 3. Poston of Servce User In standng facng a frm surface at approxmately wat heght, legs slghtly apart. 4. Poston of Rehabltaton Assstant Standng to one sde facng servce user to see servce user s face and legs 5. Explan how to perform the exercse You are gong to bend your knee by lftng your foot from The floor towards your bottom Then slowly return to standng poston 6. Ready Bend you knee and lft your foot from the floor towards your bottom. Keep your thgh n lne wth your body and slowly return to startng poston 7. Completon Feedback to the servce user and seek feedback from them Check the servce user s comfortable and not n pan 8. Document n the servce user s notes

Check plan for varaton, equpment used eg sldng board and number of repettons. 2. Explan reason for exercse - e.g. ths exercse s to help regan the bend at your knee/strengthen the muscles at the back of your thgh. You wll need to le down for ths exercse. 3. Poston of Servce User Supne -Lyng flat on ther back, head supported by a pllow(s) Prone Lyng on ther front, (remove pllows), head n comfortable poston ether turned to sde or restng on hands. 4. Poston of Rehabltaton Assstant On sde to be exercsed, facng the bed so t s possble to watch the Servce User s face as well as the servce user s feet. 5. Explan how to perform the exercse and use of any equpment: - Supne: Slowly bend your knee so your heel sldes up the bed toward your bottom. Do not let your knee flop to the sde. Prone: Slowly bend your knee, so your heel comes toward your bottom, keepng your thgh n contact wth the bed. Once you have bent your knee as far as you can, slowly straghten your leg back out. You need to do ths tmes. If usng equpment, explan ths s to help reduce frcton to make the exercse easer. 6. Ready... Supne Slde your heel up the bed and bend your knee. Keep gong; bend your knee as far as you can. Prone bend your knee so your heel comes towards your bottom Throughout the exercse there should be verbal promptng and encouragement wth correcton when the exercse s not beng done properly. Count repettons for the servce user and tell them when to rest. 7. Completon Feedback to the servce user and seek feedback from them Check the servce user s all rght and not n pan. 8. Document n the servce user s notes

The am s to get your knee bendng to a rght angle (90º). 3. Poston of Servce User Sttng n a straght-backed char (preferably a dnng char but check the plan). Ensure the servce user s sttng uprght wth ther bottom well back and thghs supported. The knee jont should be free (.e. unmpeded). 4. Poston of Rehabltaton Assstant Squattng/sttng to affected sde. Able to look up and check the servce user s face. 5. Explan how to perform the exercse You are gong to bend your knee as far as you can - keep your bottom stll and don t lean to the sde. You are gong to do ths tmes (NB - Explan any equpment e.g. a plastc bag wll make ths easer.) 6. Ready.. Bend your knee as far as you can. Through the exercse there should be verbal promptng and encouragement wth correcton when the exercse s not beng done properly. Count repettons for the servce user and tell them when to rest. 7.
