UPMC Update in Anesthesia, Pain & Intensive Care Conference Nemacolin Woodlands Resort Farmington, PA April 27-29, 2018 Program Overview: The University of Pittsburgh Physicians Department of Anesthesiology will sponsor the Annual Regional Anesthesia & Ultrasound Guided Techniques Conference April 27-29, 2018 at the beautiful Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Farmington, PA. This distinctive program is designed to join experts in anesthesiology in a collaborative educational program. This program is intended to review and update the knowledge and skills of anesthesia providers and other healthcare providers related to state-of-the-art professional practice. This activity is sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh Physicians Department of Anesthesiology and the Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences. Target Audience: The target audience for this meeting consists of pain and primary care physicians, anesthesiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency room and rehab physicians, surgeons, gastroenterologists, internal medicine and family practice physicians, general practitioners, residents, fellows, pharmacists, nurses, CRNAs, CRNPs, and PA-Cs, and any other interested individuals. Learning Objectives: Upon conclusion of the program, attendees should be able to understand: The role of psychosocial and genetic factors in pain The concept of opioid-free anesthesia and recovery The role of the Perioperative Surgical Home Updates in perioperative management for liver transplantation Updates in chronic pain and opioid addiction Updates in pediatric acute & chronic pain medicine Ultrasound-guided techniques for point of care and regional anesthesia Lodging/Accommodations: The conference has contracted a limited number of hotel rooms at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Registration Fee: Friday registration fee includes Friday admission to the program, continental breakfast, break, and lunch. Saturday and Sunday registration fee includes admission to the program along with CME credit.
