Name: Dr. Rinu Sharma Designation: Assistant Professor School: University School of Biotechnology Address: AFR-202, Block-A, University School of Biotechnology Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Sector 16C, Dwarka Delhi-110075 India Phone No. (Office):011-25302312 Email-id: rinusharma@gmail.com, rinu.sharma@ipu.ac.in Educational Qulification: Ph.D Specialization: Cancer Molecular Biology Dr. Rinu Sharma obtained her master's degree in Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She carried out her doctoral research on the identification and characterization of differentially expressed genes in human esophageal cancer. Subsequently, she pursued her postdoctoral research in Department of Biochemistry AIIMS, as Research Scientist. The salient features of her work have been published in reputed international journals, including Int.J.Cancer, Plos One, BMC Cancer and Genomics. She has extramural grants from various funding agencies viz. DBT, DST, UGC etc. She has also guided the research work of Ph.D, postgraduate and undergraduate students at G.G.S. I.P. University and AIIMS. Her current areas of interest are identification of non-invasive blood based biomarkers for early diagnosis of esophageal cancer and functional analysis of significantly altered genes using gene silencing and proteomic approaches. Her group is also interested in deciphering the clinical as well as functional significance of mirnas in esophageal cancer.
