INFO TO KEEP What is Showtime Theatre Company? Showtime Theatre Company was created to offer in depth training and performance opportunities in a supportive Christian environment for children and adults in the York County, SC area. Utilizing the combined talents of Showtime s passionate and experienced team members, Showtime offers professional level training for all ages in a variety of workshops, classes, and performance opportunities.

Mission Showtime Theatre Company engages, inspires, entertains and challenges students and participants of all ages in a constructive and Christian learning environment. We train and support the next generation of theatre artists; we provide arts education programs that promote lifelong learning to a diverse community; and we celebrate the essential power of the theatre to illuminate our humanity and promote community. Vision and Values Our vision for the Showtime Theatre Company incorporates the following values: Ministry We value our Christian heritage and core beliefs and will be providing an educational and supportive environment that utilizes the arts to celebrate and promote Christian values. Quality We work to create an educational environment and production values of the highest quality, and demand excellence from the artists, staff and volunteers with whom we work. Community Outreach We believe in offering programs that are inclusive, that reflect the diversity of the York County, South Carolina area, and that have meaningful impact on our community. Professional Training We are committed to the training and support of our participants and volunteers, to increase their theatrical knowledge as well as their professionalism as it relates to all aspects of their lives. Inclusivity and Diversity We invite participants from our diverse community and do not discriminate based on age, economic status, religion, creed, race or other factors. We believe the arts are to be celebrated and shared by all and can bridge gaps and build community. Community We will continue to strengthen our leadership role in the arts community of York County, South Carolina, and enhance our regional reputations while partnering with and promoting local businesses. Financial Health We will uphold our covenant as a not-for-profit institution by being reliable stewards of the public trust and the resources provided to us by our community. Noteworthy Information and FAQ s Although we operate in a Christian educational environment, material used for training and production may include both secular and religious works. Participants may at times be invited to pray, but will not be required to do so, as all faiths are welcome and respected. Participants of all faiths are welcome to participate. Showtime is based in Christian values, and Mark 22:39 tells us to "Love our neighbors as ourselves"

and thus Showtime encourages an environment of acceptance and inclusion, regardless of politics, race, creed, age or sexual preference. Casting is done at the discretion of the production team and any audition information will be posted as available. Participants who are not prepared to participate in a professional and respectful manner may be asked to leave at the discretion of the production team. Volunteers and adult participants may be required to complete a background check. Parents may be asked to leave the rehearsal area at the discretion of the production team in order to support the creative process for our performers. Showtime attempts to accommodate all interested thespians and may at times utilize double casting, additional performances and other techniques in order to allow for as much participation as possible, without jeopardizing production value and student experience. However, we continue to reserve the right to cap participation depending on production requirements, topics and staff availability. Showtime is a non-profit company that relies on tuition, donations, fundraisers, and sponsorships to cover production costs. Production costs include theatre rentals, costume construction, purchase and rentals, technical elements purchase and rentals, marketing and much more. NOTE: When breaking down our tuition into contact hours, you will find that it is very competitive, and typically less expensive per hour than local gymnastics, dance or sports club programming.
