16 519-940-9092 / www.orangeville.ca Adult Programs Orangeville & District Senior Citizens Centre The Seniors Centre, at 26 Bythia Street, is a recreation centre for older adults. The centre provides a range of social, health, recreational and educational opportunities for adults 55 and older. Programs encourage participation, independence, growth and information. The centre offers a wide variety of accessible programs, special events, travel, services and volunteer opportunities. Seniors from Orangeville and the surrounding area are welcome to join the centre for an annual membership fee of $25. Memberships are valid for one year (April 1 to March 31). The majority of our programs are ongoing drop-in programs; you are not required to sign up for these, just come in and pay the required fee to participate (presently $1 drop-in fee). You are welcome to come and try out these programs prior to becoming a member but once you determine you would like to continue, a membership is required. These programs have a specific start and end date and are offered in 6-10 week sessions. Line Dancing Yoga Cyber Seniors Zumba Nordic Walking Tai Chi is also available at the Centre, offered by Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism and Headwaters School of Tai Chi. The centre offers a number of special events and programs throughout the year pot luck lunches, special occasion dinners, lunches, information forums, community volunteer income tax program and a foot care clinic. The centre is also available to older adults as a resource centre; there are people available to help complete forms and answer questions and also to direct individuals to the proper support agencies.
