Challenges Medicine and Psychology are still two separate cultures trying to understand each other Supervision of trainees Teaching requirements, ratios, styles Who pays for what? Patients pay for medical tests; psychologists pay for questionnaires, inventories, and testing kits! In Clinics: Crisis; Dumping; Immediacy Boundaries; Ethics Timing is everything Bedside manner, biopsychosocial /biomedical; cultural competency, and interviewing skills are not on the Boards! Levels of Training All pre-docs are not the same!
