FACULTY AXEL KIRSCH, D.M.D. Dr. Axel Kirsch is an internationally recognized pioneer in the field of perio-implant-prosthetics. For the past 30 years, Dr. Kirsch s experimental and clinical experience has resulted in the development of the IMZ Implant System. Dr. Kirsch and his interdisciplinary team of experts developed and tested the Camlog Implant System both experimentally and clinically since 1995. His current clinical research is centered on the field of hard- and soft-tissue management for reliable implantprosthetic rehabilitations. Course Objectives Basics on teamwork, patient evaluation, treatment planning, biological aspects, case classification and procedures of hard- and soft-tissue management. FACULTY LEON CHEN, D.M.D., M.S. For the past 20 years, Dr. Leon Chen has been known as the inventor of Hydraulic Sinus Condensing (HSC) technique, a minimally invasive sinus lift technique recognized as a gold standard. He was the first clinician to utilize EMD for root coverage and sinus lift. Chen also developed the flapless sinus, 5-in-1 immediate loading technique, vertical augmentation without block, and the most difficult task lingual augmentation. Now he is developing a procedure and instrumentation that will revolutionize complicated implant cases into simplified cases, called the Hydraulic Membrane Lift (HML) with navigation. Dr. Chen is a founder of Dental Implant Institute World, known as a top facility in both implant treatment and education throughout the world. A Harvard dental graduate and Northwestern periodontist, Dr. Chen is now a visiting faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an advisor to implant manufacturers and an honored member of numerous dental organizations, including Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
