With its world famous Inner Harbor, renowned museums and attractions, award winning restaurants, a locally loved music scene, and hip and historic neighborhoods, Baltimore is fascinating, scenic, and so comfortable that many attendees will want to allow extra vacation days to add to their International Convention experience to hang out! LOTS OF WORKSHOPS AND BIG MEETINGS Attend recovery workshops during the day on Friday and Saturday at the Baltimore Convention Center. Join thousands of Al Anon, Alateen, A.A. members, and their guests, both evenings and Sunday morning, to celebrate recovery and worldwide unity at the Big Meetings which will also be held at the Convention Center. COME A DAY EARLY Attend a separate Day of Connecting event on Thursday, July 5th. Connect with volunteers and staff from the World Service Office who will be presenting workshops and holding a variety of meetings. More information regarding registration for this event will be coming soon. KEEP THE PARTY GOING! Enjoy fun and fellowship on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. On Friday evening, there will be a Language of Love Parade before the Big Meeting. For more information, visit the Language of Love Parade section of the Al Anon International Convention website. PIONEER LUNCHEON There will be a special, ticketed event luncheon on Saturday. Everyone who registers for the Convention whether they have been in the program for one day or over 60 years is invited to purchase a ticket for the Pioneer Luncheon. Attend the luncheon and celebrate our history by hearing longtime members share their recovery. Please note that seating is limited. Tickets are $65.00. The deadline for purchasing a Pioneer Luncheon ticket is May 31, 2018. No tickets will be sold at the door. HOSPITALITY AREA Enjoy talking with old friends and making new friends in the Hospitality area. Post a note on the bulletin board to connect with someone you know. Share and visit with members from around the world it will energize your recovery! Start a spontaneous meeting with other members. ALATEEN INFORMATION Alateens age 12 and over must register. Alateens 12 through 19 wearing an Alateen Convention badge may attend closed Alateen meetings. Children ages 9 through 11 may also attend closed Alateen meetings. Young people with a badge other than Alateen may not attend closed Alateen meetings. Al Anon Members Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS) who are currently certified by their Area will be designated as Sponsors for the Alateen workshops. If you are an AMIAS and are interested, check the box on the registration form. A special identification for the Convention Badge will be given out at the workshops indicating this service position. A.A. ACTIVITIES A.A. meetings will be held during the day on Friday and Saturday at the Baltimore Convention Center. A.A. members are invited to join Al Anon and Alateen members at the Big Meetings and dance, also at the Convention Center. VOLUNTEER TO LEAD A WORKSHOP OR SHARE ON A TOPIC Make this Convention a special experience by volunteering to lead a workshop or share on a topic. If you register by mail, you will receive your questionnaire with your badge insert. If you register online, you will receive a link to the questionnaire along with your confirmation email. All leaders and people who share on a topic will be selected from those who have registered. AUDIO RECORDINGS Al Anon, Alateen and A.A. sessions will be recorded. Audio recordings will be available for purchase in Baltimore. Visit the International Convention website for more details.

OTHER LANGUAGES Rooms will be available for French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish speaking members to hold meetings during the day on Friday and Saturday based on the number of attendees. Simultaneous interpretation of the Big Meetings will be based on the number of requests received on the registration form. In order to ensure adequate translation services in the Big Meetings, you must register by December 31st. PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED GUESTS Every effort has been made to assure your participation. Please indicate on the housing form if you require specific accommodations (such as a shower bar) in your hotel room. Wheelchairs, scooters, and companion assistance are not provided you will need to make your own arrangements. GROUPS TRAVELING TOGETHER Travel agency checks for multiple registrations will not be accepted. When groups of people using two or more rooms wish to be housed in the same hotel, they must return a separate Housing Form for each room (for groups registering online, reserve rooms online). Please note your party s name on the Housing Form. Send all Housing Forms in the same envelope. The housing company will do its best to accommodate you. There are no guarantees. Make your reservations early. BALTIMORE WEATHER IN JULY July is a great time to visit Baltimore. The lows range in the mid 70s (24 degrees Celsius) and the highs range in the high 80s. (32 degrees Celsius). TOURS Exciting tours will be available, highlighting the unique landscape of the area. Visit the Al Anon International Convention website for more information on tours. REGISTRATION BY WEB OR MAIL Registration opens September 2017. Registration Fees: $130.00 US must be received by December 31, 2017 $165.00 US between January 1 and must be received by May 31, 2018 $195.00 US June 1st through the Convention Payable by check, money order, or credit card. Cash (US) will only be accepted from attendees who register on site at the Convention. International checks and money orders must be in US funds drawn on a US bank. Note: Travel agency checks for multiple registrations will not be accepted. You may register online through al anon.org/international, or fill out and mail the registration form with full payment to: RCS 1833 Portola Rd, Suite D Ventura, CA 93003 Once registered, you will receive confirmation via e mail, access to the Housing Reservation link, and a hyperlink to a form to volunteer to lead a workshop or share at a workshop. If you mail your registration form, please allow two to three weeks to receive your registration confirmation, housing information, and volunteer form in the mail. If your registration is received by May 31, 2018, your badge(s) will be mailed to you. Bring your badge with you to Baltimore (there is a $60.00 US administrative processing fee to print a duplicate badge); it is your proof of registration. When you arrive in Baltimore, come to the Baltimore Convention Center with your badge to pick up your Convention program. TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER INFORMATION Visit the Al Anon International Convention website for more information regarding discounted travel, ground transportation between the airport and hotels, and getting around in Baltimore.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS All cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds will be made only upon receipt of your written request enclosing your badge(s), and must be received by May 31, 2018. No exceptions. There is a $25 US administrative processing fee for cancellations, which will be deducted from the refund. Allow six weeks for processing. Written requests and badges should be mailed to: RCS 1833 Portola Rd, Suite D Ventura, CA 93003 HOUSING INFORMATION Housing reservation information, including the housing company s contact information, will be included with your registration confirmation. Hotel rates range from $131.00 US per night to $199.00 US per night plus applicable taxes. Hotel rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. However, you must be registered for the Convention before you may make your housing reservations. Once your registration form and payment have been received, you will receive housing information by the same method that you used to register. If online, a link to the Housing Reservation website will be available after you complete the registration process. You will then be able to complete your hotel reservation online. Check the Housing website for details on hotel cancellations. If you register by mail, housing information will be sent to you by postal mail. Complete your housing information and send required deposit to the address indicated on the Housing Reservation Form. Your hotel reservation will be processed and a confirmation mailed to you. REGISTRATION POLICIES 1. Registration payment must accompany all mailed registration forms. $130.00 US must be received by 12/31/17 $165.00 US between 1/1/18 and must be received by 5/31/18 $195.00 US after 5/31/18 2. Any changes to registration information already processed must be made in writing before May 31, 2018, or on site. All changes must be made by the current registration on file. No charges will be assessed for corrections to badge information excluding Transfers (see below). 3. Transfers made will be subject to a $25.00 US administrative processing fee. You must have the original attendee s badge to make on site transfers. 4. Replacement of lost or forgotten badges will be subject to a $60.00 US reprint fee.
