Getting the Most Out of Perspective DVD Perspective 11 DVD is a patient education program designed to be used chairside in your operatories and consulting rooms. It includes more than six hours of multimedia presentations, covering virtually every topic in dentistry. Using easy-to-understand narration, these dynamic presentations demonstrate the importance of treatment, explain any alternatives and help promote your discretionary services. With CAESY Perspective, patients will want the treatment you know they need, increasing your case acceptance and saving you time. CAESY Perspective 11: CAESY Perspective provides a wide range of multimedia presentations, organized into 17 broad topics (including the Pediatric disc), so your patients can quickly understand their treatment options and make an informed decision. To get the most from CAESY Perspective, you should become familiar with some of the standard features. Here is a quick reference for CAESY Perspective. Each is described in more detail in this guide. 1

CAESY Perspective Topic Presentation Linked Presentations Gallery Explanation A main menu of presentations, such as Diagnosis, Procedure, Post-op Instructions, Alternatives, etc. Select a topic at the CAESY Perspective Main menu. Then, in the topic menu, select individual presentations. For a complete list of topics and presentations, see Presentations in CAESY Perspective 11, Discs 1 & 2. A single video or set of still images. For more information, see Playing a Single Presentation A pre-defined sequence of presentations that plays together as a group. For example, during an exam you can use the Playlists feature to show presentations from several categories. For more information, see Playing Linked Presentations. A set of photos, graphic illustrations and silent, 3-D animations. You can select the Gallery images to supplement your explanations to patients about dental problems and the results after treatment. Most of the topic menus contain a Gallery menu of images. In particular, the Esthetic Dentistry Before & After Galleries menu contains 192 before and after images, categorized by esthetic procedure. For more information, see Using Image Galleries. Screensaver A continuous loop of videos and images (similar to a screen saver) that plays automatically and serves as a marketing tool for your services. The Screensaver feature educates and entertains your patients with esthetic topics, hygiene presentations, before and after photos and more. For more information, see Playing Screensaver. 2

Document Conventions The following conventions are used in this guide: Convention Meaning Indicates information that is necessary for preventing damage to the software or equipment. Indicates important information that you should know when using the software. Indicates a useful tip or suggestion for getting the most out of the software. Bolded Text Indicates a button, menu, command or other element that is shown on the software interface. This is also used for examples. With this CAESY Perspective 11 User Guide, you will find the information you need to get the most out of CAESY Perspective 11, including: Hardware requirements Playing and customizing CAESY Perspective 11 Presentation list Contact information Each topic in this guide begins with information to help you make the best choices while using CAESY Perspective 11. Step-by-step procedures for specific tasks follow the introductory information. 3

Hardware Requirements To play CAESY Perspective 11, you will need: A compatible interactive DVD player with remote control OR A computer with DVD-ROM drive and compatible MPEG 2 decoder. NOTE: CAESY does not provide support for issues related to combination TV/DVD units. Choosing a DVD Player While all DVD players will play movies, not all will correctly play complex, dual layer interactive discs like Perspective 11 DVD. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us: Support Specialist at 800-475-5036 or by e-mail at ptc.support@pattersondental.com. Assistance is available 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Central Time, Monday Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Central Time, Friday. Visit our Web site at www.caesy.com.
