D., degree in Microbiology has been awarded from University of Mysore, Manasagangotri, Mysore-570006. My research work aimed to conduct a systematic study on the diversity of Fusarium and their detection by PCR, extent of fumonisin contamination in maize and sorghum grains and management of Fusarium species using plant essential oils and gamma irradiations. The emphasis of my research in these following areas: Isolation and characterization of different Fusarium species in maize and sorghum collected from Karnataka, India. Detection and Screening of different Fusarium species for their potential ability to produce fumonisin by PCR methods Extraction and quantification of fumonisins in maize and sorghum produced in Development of non-conventional methods to manage Fusarium contamination.
