PLEASE NOTE this guide relates specifically to the maintenance of case diaries and starts from the Case View page case diaries can also be maintained from the Diaries tab see the separate guide for a more in depth analysis of this area case maintenance is the updating of information for an existing case maintenance is defined as the creation of new information or editing (updating) or deleting (removing) existing information there are separate case maintenance guides for each maintenance area maintenance of a case varies little from case type to case type (maintenance of a Trademark is almost identical to a Patent, Design, Domain Name etc.). In these case maintenance guides we have elected to maintain a Trademark case most case maintenance is undertaken from the Case View page fileye automatically directs you to the Case View page after creating a new case or duplicating an existing case it is also possible to access the Case View page by selecting a case from the history area, the Records search page or where you see the case folder view icon within fileye for the sake of clarity we have edited the images and removed some peripheral detail
WHAT ARE CASE DIARIES? case diaries provide the ability to record and manage all reminder and due dates for a case diaries take advantage of due AND reminder dates diaries can be created on an ad hoc basis diaries can be automatically generated as soon as a new case is created from diary events assigned to the country law* diaries can update associated case dates (such as registration, filing etc.) upon completion* known costs, such as filing, examination, grant, publication and renewal fees can be assigned to Diary Events and fileye will automatically generate a cost item when instructed to* diaries can utilise workflows to control the activities you wish to process* diaries can trigger forms and letters upon completion of each activity* diaries can assign specific responsible people for different activities* reminders can be automatically emailed to the people responsible * Professional Edition only
from the Case View page, below the header, you are able to view the diary grid
you are able to create new ad hoc diaries by clicking on the Create button within the grid (refer to the Diaries guide)
and in the event of major changes or a mistake you can restart all diaries (Professional Edition only)
and create letters and forms previously triggered by workflow activities (Professional Edition only, see the Diaries guide)
all diaries are retained by fileye (previously completed, inactive and omitted) but by default fileye only shows the outstanding ones (active). Use the Diary Status Filter to view these
the filters can be used in combination with each other and here we see just ones which are inactive (yet t0 be started)
now completed diaries
and finally all diaries (there are multiple pages for this case). The Diary Status Filter is a useful option because it allows you to see the diaries that have not yet been activated and are still to come
the grid icons perform additional tasks and all are explained fully in the Diaries guide
SEE ALSO RELATED GUIDES for information related to the Diaries tab for all aspects of case maintenance for case creation and duplication
