2015 FT. LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW GUEST SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTIONS Wednesday, November 4th 9 am to Noon ORIENTATION SESSION MANDITORY ATTENDANCE Bahia Mar Center, Ft. Lauderdale - Snacks and lunch will be provided in lieu of salary Thursday, November 5th - Sunday, November 8th Monday, November 9th Show: 10 am 7 pm Daily Show: 10 am 5 pm Salary - $10-13 per hour, average 32-50 hours total, depending on your assignment. YOU MUST BE LEGALLY ABLE TO WORK IN THE U.S. You must provide the identification required by the government in order to work. This is usually a Driver s License or School Photo ID and your social security card. Checks will be mailed approximately 4-6 weeks after the show. Parking will be provided. You must arrange for your transportation to ensure you arrive on time for your shift each day. Team Members will arrive in advance of show hours, in time to sign in, check out their radio (if assigned), and arrive at their assigned location. Lunch, breaks and cold drinks are provided each day. Official Sponsor T-shirts will be provided. Crew must wear solid color (long) Bermuda type shorts, Pocket Pants/slacks, Capri pants, Khaki s, Cargo pants or shorts. Crew Uniform Skorts are also permitted. Prefer solid color navy, white, tan, beige or khaki shorts or pants. NO plaids, jeans, cutoffs, or short shorts. The GUEST SERVICES crew will assist show visitors, guests, exhibitors, and VIP s; and engage show visitors to answer questions, provide directions and serve as the official greeter ambassadors for the Boat Show. The Guest Services Crew will provide exceptional customer service and assistance to make the Boat Show experience the best it can be. The basic schedule is 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. On Thursday, November 5th, a fireworks display is scheduled for 7:10 pm. We will be staying later that night. On Monday, November 9th, the show closes at 5 pm rather than 7 pm. Your schedule may be adjusted according to your assignment.
The GREETER TEAM will be located at high traffic positions at Bahia Mar. The Greeter Crew will attend Orientation on Wednesday and work the show from Thursday through Sunday and assist with the fireworks display on Thursday night. The INFORMATION CENTER TEAM will be located at information booth centers at Bahia Mar, Pier 66 and the Convention Center. The Information Center Crew will attend Orientation on Wednesday and work the full show, Thursday through Monday. Information Center staff may have an adjusted schedule in order to provide customer service one hour after the show closes and to cover the fireworks display on Thursday night. (Fireworks night subject to change) The SUPPORT TEAM will be based at the Bahia Mar Control Center. The Support Team will be responsible for cleaning, and maintaining the Info Center Booths. Additional responsibilities will include stocking the booths with magazines, programs, sponsor information, water and ice. The Support Staff will attend Orientation on Wednesday and work the full show, Thursday through Monday. The DOCK ATTENDANTS TEAM will greet visitors and meet the water taxis, riverboats, and other official transportation watercraft. Dock Attendants will tie up the boat and assist the visitors. Dock Attendants will attend Orientation on Wednesday and will work the Show Thursday through Monday. Boat handling skills required. Attendants may also work high-end client special events in the evenings. The EXHIBITOR GREETER TEAM (EGT s) will work several days before and after the show to assist exhibitors with parking instructions, delivery or other logistics inquiries during the set up and teardown of the Show at the Convention Center and the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. BUS STARTER ASSISTANTS will be assigned and under the direction of TMS the bus company that provides Visitors shuttle service between parking areas and the various show locations. Must be able to work a full schedule and outdoors. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations. Team members will be required to attend Orientation to get familiarized with the layout of the entire boat show and the associated activities.
