High School Application Dear Student, August 2017 We would like to invite you to apply to be on our ACTS Leadership Development team. Over the past few years we have worked hard to make this program something which will help you to succeed in every area of your life. We do this by teaching students important skills such as how to build strong relationships, good work habits and how to lead their peers as well as younger students. Through all of this we also have a lot of fun! We are looking for students who want to grow spiritually, learn how to lead others in a positive way and seek to discover God s will for their lives. If that s you, keep reading... Each year we are raising the bar higher so the impact and growth of our leaders will be even greater. Students who are selected into the program will have opportunity to serve at ACTS After School and/or with AMP (ACTS Media Productions). Below are the scheduled meetings you would need to attend if you are invited to be an ACTS leader: Weekly leadership training at Gateway Presbyterian Church starts September 14 th from 3:30-5:30, meal included. The After School Program for 3 rd -5 th graders starts October 19 th where we will transition from training to leading the program. Bi-monthly leadership trainings will be at Calvary Baptist Church, throughout the school year, on the 1st & 3rd Mondays starting October 16 th from 5:30-8:00, dinner included. In October we will meet the 3 rd & 5 th Monday. We will also hold and have two weekend retreats September 15 th -17 th & March 16 th 18 th. The retreats will be packed with three days of valuable training, food, friends and fun! The cost to join the ACTS Leadership Development Program is $150 per person which covers meals, two retreats and ACTS Leadership T-shirt. WAIT!! Before you throw this letter away and think you can t afford it, realize we will give you opportunities to raise the money through group fundraisers. We would like each participant s family to invest at least $25-$50 and then we will help you raise the balance but if that s not possible we will let students raise the full amount. If you would like to apply for this exciting opportunity or have questions, please call the ACTS office RIGHT AWAY and let us know. More than likely you will get the answering machine but please leave your full name and phone number and we will call you back. Applications can be found at our website www.actsthedalles.org and are due September 10 th, 2017. We hope you decide to be a part of this exciting program! Sincerely, Joe Martin/Executive Director

Financial Commitment: EVERYONE CAN AFFORD ACTS! Joining the ACTS Leadership Development team is a wonderful opportunity for students and leaders, but it also brings with it an obligation of your time and finances. It is VERY important for each team member to understand they are personally responsible to pay the $150 required to be included on the team. ACTS is here to assist in raising some of the funds required. We understand there are times when finances are tight but we expect each team member to take personal responsibility by either making payments and/or working fundraisers to cover the cost. We believe there is great value in young people having a personal investment in raising the finances for their trip. The budget form below is to help you come up with a plan to pay for your leadership fee. THE BUDGET BELOW MUST BE COMPLETED.
