First available in TMWSuite 2008.08_08.0162 The DAT Interactive interface provides TMWSuite users with the ability to import real-time equipment data from DAT. Interactive results are in addition to any external equipment records stored in the TMWSuite database. Notes: 1. The DAT Interactive interface can be used on a Citrix/Terminal Server. However, the interface has not been tested or certified by TMW Systems. 2. The DAT Interactive interface is a licensed add-on module that must be purchased from TMW. For details, contact TMW Sales at 216-831-6606. 3. In addition to purchasing the add-on module, you must have a valid DAT account and be running TMWSuite V.2009, build 2009.08_08.0170 or later. 4. The interface is installed from the TMWDatInteractiveSetup.msi file. Setting up the system to use the DAT Interactive interface Installing the DAT Interactive interface requires these steps: Adding the required INI settings to the TTS50.ini file. Downloading and running the DAT Interactive installation file. Setting up System Administration for the DAT Interactive interface. Optional: You may also want to verify postings in the Dispatch Planning Worksheet. Prerequisites The following installations and licenses must be completed or applied before you can install and set up the DAT Interactive interface: A TMW license is required to activate the DAT Interactive interface. Without proper licensing, the options described in this document will not appear in your TMWSuite applications. The administrator must store the user ID and password for each DAT Interactive user in TMWSuite System Administration. Optional: For posting equipment and loads out of TMWSuite, you will need the TMW Freight Board interface. Note: You can download the TMW Freight Board interface from the Build Delivery area of TMW ClientCenter. This feature requires its own separate license. Optional: Install TransCore 3sixty Freight Match to view and test your own postings. Note: Refer to the setup and installation instructions provided by TransCore. Copyright 2011 TMW Systems, Inc. Applying the required licenses to the TMWSuite database Special licensing is required to run the DAT Interactive interface. The licensing is contained in a SQL script that is applied to your TMWSuite database using SQL Server Enterprise Manager/SQL Query Analyzer. Note: For instructions on applying the SQL script to your database, refer to your SQL Query Analyzer help system. To verify that the licensing has been properly applied to your database, follow these steps: 1. From any TMWSuite application, select the About command from the Help menu. 2. Click the More button located in the bottom right corner of the window. 3. A second About window provides a table containing three columns: Option Name Lists the applications and features available in TMWSuite. Option Value Signifies whether the application/feature is active. Option Expiration Lists the date that the subscription to each feature will expire. 2

4. Scroll through the list to find the DAT INTERACTIVE INTERFACE license and verify that the Option Value field contains a value of Y. 5. Repeat Step 4 for the ENHANCED BROKERAGE MODULE license and FREIGHT BOARD INTERFACE license. Notes: 1. The list is alphabetical. 2. If the required license is not listed, contact your Support Team. E-mail Phone Support Team 1 SupportTeamOne@tmwsystems.com Call 216/831-6606 and choose Support Team 2 SupportTeamTwo@tmwsystems.com Option 6. Follow the prompt to select your team s extension. If all Support Team 3 SupportTeamThree@tmwsystems.com support personnel are busy, you can leave a voice mail message. 6. Click OK twice, to close both About windows. 3

Installing the DAT Interactive interface The DAT Interactive installation must be performed on the workstation of each user who will be receiving data from the DAT network. Use the following steps to complete installation of the DAT Interactive interface. 1. If installing on Citrix or on a terminal server, you must switch to Install mode before continuing with Step 2. 2. Download the TMWDatInteractiveSetup.msi file from the Build Delivery area of TMW ClientCenter. 3. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, find the folder where you saved the downloaded installation files. 4. Double-click the TMWDatInteractiveSetup.msi file to begin the installation. 5. The Welcome to the TMW DAT Interactive COM component Setup Wizard dialog box appears. Click Next. 6. The Select Installation Folder dialog box appears. The default location is C:\Program Files\ TMW Systems, Inc\TMW DAT Interactive COM component. You will also specify whether DAT Interactive interface can be used by anyone who uses your computer, or by only you. Do one of the following: To accept the default location, specify who can access the DAT Interactive interface on the computer and then click Next. 4

To specify another location, click the Browse button and navigate to the desired location, specify who can access the DAT Interactive interface on the computer, and then click Next. Note: To view the drives where you can install the DAT Interactive interface and each drive s available and required disk space, click Disk Cost. Click OK to close the dialog box. 7. In the Confirm Installation dialog box, click Next to install the DAT Interactive interface on your computer: 5

8. The Installing TMW DAT Interactive COM component dialog box indicates the progress of the installation. 9. The Installation Complete dialog box indicates that the installation has been successful. Click Close. 10. Close any open applications and reboot your computer. 6

Specifying the URL provided by TransCore Use the DATInteractiveURL= INI setting to specify the URL to be used by the DAT Interactive interface. [Dispatch] DATInteractiveURL First available in Description TMWSuite: 2009.08_08.0124 This setting provides the URL for the DAT Interactive interface that you receive from your TransCore customer support representative. This setting is case-sensitive. Options Leave blank (default) Description Connecting to TransCore automatically Use the IncludeWebInterfacesForExtEquipment= INI setting to automatically connect to TransCore when you access the External Equipment grid. [Dispatch] IncludeWebInterfacesForExtEquipment First available in Description TMWSuite: 2009.08_08.0124 This setting determines whether the Web Xface(s) check box on the External Equipment tab of the Dispatch Planning Worksheet is selected by default. Options CHECKED (default) The check box is selected. Note: When this option is used, the Web Xface(s) option sends the user ID and password that are stored with the user's profile to DAT Interactive, which will then query the external interactive equipment boards during the refresh function. UNCHECKED The check box is not selected by default. 7

Recording user IDs and passwords for the interface The login and password for each DAT Interactive user is stored in the user s TMWSuite user profile. Once this information is part of the users profiles, selecting the Web Xface(s) check box on the External Equipment tab in the Dispatch Planning Worksheet provides direct Internet access to external load boards. Note: If you store your user ID and password but do not select the Web Xface(s) check box on the External Equipment tab, the external load boards will not be queried. Use the following steps to record the user ID and password needed to query external load boards during the refresh function. 1. Log into the TMWSuite System Administration application. 2. In the User Maintenance window, select the user name and click the Profile icon in the frame toolbar. 3. In the Edit User Profiles window, click next to the Login ID field. Note: For information about accessing the User Maintenance and Edit User Profiles windows, see Establishing user profiles, in the System Administration guide. 8

4. The External User Cross Reference window allows you to store each user s user ID and password for DAT Interactive. Click Add to create login information for an external system. Note: A user can have only one login for the DAT Interactive interface. 5. Select DAT Interactive in the External System column. 6. Enter your DAT Interactive user ID in the External User ID field. 7. Enter your DAT Interactive password in the External Password field. Your user ID and password are used with the Web Xface(s) option in the External Equipment tab of the Dispatch Planning Worksheet to pull data from external sources. If your user ID and password are stored but Web Xface(s) is not selected, the external sources cannot be queried. 8. Enter any additional information in the Comments field. 9. Click Save to keep your changes. 10. Click Close twice to close the External User Cross Reference window and Edit User Profiles window. 9

Verifying that company carriers have MC numbers You should record the motor carrier (MC) number for each of your carriers in TMWSuite File Maintenance. The DAT Interactive interface uses the MC number to match DAT carriers to the carriers in your TMWSuite database. When data is retrieved from Connexion or DAT Interactive, carriers that do not match a carrier in the TMWSuite database will display an asterisk in their ID. You will not be able to drag-anddrop or assign these carriers to loads in the system. 10

Viewing DAT postings in the Dispatch Planning Worksheet After you install DAT Interactive interface and set up TMWSuite, follow these steps to verify that TMWSuite can import data to the External Equipment tab. 1. Log into the TMWSuite Dispatch application. 2. Open the Planning Worksheet and select the External Equipment grid. 3. On the External Equipment tab, verify that the posting is listed. a. Enter the Origin and Destination and any other information. b. Select the Web Xface(s) check box. Note: If your DAT Interactive interface user ID and password are stored in your user profile, but the Web Xface(s) check box is not selected, external sites cannot be queried. c. Click Refresh. The posting will appear at the bottom of the window. 11

Notes: 1. To confirm the validity of the retrieved data, you can create the same search within the TransCore 3sixty Freight Match application. 2. A valid search requires an origin location. Additionally, for a valid search, the AVL From date should be within 30 days of the current date. 12
