Professional Experience. Junior Resident in Dept. of Psychiatry, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) from May 2006 to May 2009. Senior Resident in Dept of Psychiatry, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) from May 2009 to May 2012. Clinical Research Associate- Wellcome trust-department of Biotechnology project at NIMHANS- May 2012 November 2012. Assistant Professor (DST-INSPIRE faculty) (NIMHANS)- December 2012 till date Work as a senior resident in NIMHANS: Senior resident in the department of psychiatry from May 2009 to May 2012 - Job profile involved clinical care for the patients in addition to supervision and teaching of postgraduate trainees in psychiatry. During this period, I worked in the specialty OCD clinic under Dr.Y.C.Janardhan Reddy and was responsible for clinical care of OCD patients. My work also involved supervising psychological interventions for OCD patients, primarily CBT. In addition, I was also involved in various clinical and imaging researches in OCD and schizophrenia. SPECIAL EXPERTISE (clinical/research): Senior Resident in OCD clinic: I have worked as a Senior Resident in OCD clinic for 3 years (2009-2012) at NIMHANS which has state of art facilities with a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Y C Janardhan Reddy. Senior Resident in Forensic Psychiatry Unit: I have also worked as a Senior Resident in Forensic Psychiatry Unit for the same period at NIMHANS. During this period, I was in-charge of managing/supervising the forensic admissions in
the unit. Research Associate in a Wellcome trust-dbt project titled Structural & Functional Connectivity of Hippocampus in Schizophrenia: Evaluation of Neuroimmunological & Neurotrophic Factors Interactions using Diffusion Tensor Imaging & functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Studies under Dr. G Venkatasubramanian. This project focuses on various imaging aspects of schizophrenia including endophenotype markers in high-risk subjects (relatives of schizophrenia patients). From December 2012, I joined as Assistant Professor of psychiatry in National Institute of Mental health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) under the prestigious scheme (award) - Innovation in science pursuit for inspired research (INSPIRE) faculty award. I have also received a grant for the project - Neural and immunological predictors of SSRI response in Obsessivecompulsive disorder: search for a composite biomarker along with the faculty award. Career interests: Elucidating imaging biomarkers for Obsessive compulsive disorder and Schizophrenia Examining bio-signatures predicting the medication response Examining the neurobiological markers and endophenotypes in subjects at high-risk for developing psychosis.
