Elbow system /Distal Humerus Indications Extraarticular fractures of the distal humerus Intraarticular fractures of the distal humerus Osteotomies (e.g. Non-unions of the distal humerus) Features LOQTEQ elbow system offers double plating of the distal humerus Anatomically shaped with a thin design to incorporate 2.7mm screws in the joint area LOQTEQ Locking and Compression screws in the shaft Available in 5 lengths and in right and left versions for dorsolateral and medial application System is compatible with the LOQTEQ small fragment Set 2 Hole 3 Hole 5 Hole 7 Hole 11 Hole 7

Portfolio: Elbow system / Olecranon Indications Extraarticular fractures of the proximal Ulna Intraarticular fractures of the proximal Ulna Osteotomies (e.g. Non-unions of the proximal Ulna) Features Anatomically shaped with a thin design to incorporate 2.7mm screws in the joint area 2.7mm screws neutralizes the forces that impact the trizeps Screws aim at and stabilize the coronoid LOQTEQ Locking and Compression screws in the shaft System is compatible with the LOQTEQ small fragment Set 2 Hole 4 Hole 6 Hole 8 Hole 10 Hole 8

Distal Medial Humerus Plate 2.7/3.5 Special Instrument The aiming arm Assists in positioning the distal screws in the medial plate to help to ensure optimal support for the distal articular block Connect the aiming arm to the medial plate The target of the drill is guided 1,5mm above the peak to prevent damaging the drill 9

Easy assembling and disassembling for the sterilization process 10

Elbow System /Distal Humerus Surgical Technique 12

Elbow System Operational approach Identify and protect nervus ulnaris a osteotomy of the olecranon b triceps-on approach c triceps-elevating approach 13

Operational Technique First steps Connection of the targeting device to the medial plate. The target of the drill is guided 1,5mm above the peak to prevent damaging the drill Positioning the medial plate on the medial condyle of the distal humerus 14

Elbow system / Medial Plate Inserting the K-Wire or Ø 2.0mm drill for primary fixation of the plate Drill the oblong hole Ø 2,5mm to fix the plate and pull the plate to the bone with a standard screw 15

Elbow system / Medial Plate 3.5/2.7mm depth gauge to measure screw length (not on picture) and then insertion of the screw A standard screw can pull the plate to the bone 16

Elbow system / Medial Plate Now the drill guide with measuring option can be fixed The targeting device can now be removed and the counter nut can be turned to the top position. 17

Elbow system / Medial Plate Drill guide is marked with two measurement options 1. 10-42mm (2mm steps) 2. 45-75mm (5mm steps) Drill for Ø2,7mm locking screws Read off the depth on the drill guide for appropriate screw length 18

Elbow system / Medial Plate After fixing the first locking screw, the targeting device drill guide can be removed and a screw can be placed where the targeting device was 19

Elbow system / Medial Plate Now the other screws can be inserted. The option of LOQTEQ compression in the shaft can be used. 20

It is important to make sure that both plates are in different lengths to avoid stressing the bone and the risk of an additional fracture. The dorsolateral plate and the placement of the joint near screws is shown here. The optimal placement would bring the screws in between each other without interference. 21

Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate Please check the positioning under X-Ray and reposition if necessary Positioning of the plate at least 3mm above the joint line to prevent placement into the articular surface of the radius 22

Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate Drill and measure with depth gauge Preparing the insertion of the standard screw Ø 3,5mm 23

Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate Insertion of 2.7mm distal screws 24

Elbow system Insertion of screws and 3.5 shaft screws as known with LOQTEQ small fragment plates 25

Elbow System / Mechanical Tests Benchmark tests / Biomechanical laboratory Murnau In summary the aap implant system fulfills the mechanical requirements, because it matches the properties of current implant systems. The mechanical properties of the system by the competitor Synthes could be exceeded. 28

Mechanical Testing The mechanical properties of the aap [LOQTEQ] implant system were significantly better than the [Leading Competitor] system Institute for Biomechanics Trauma Clinic Murnau, Germany 29
