Key Findings Problems related to licensed alcohol establishments: Over-service of alcohol in both on-sale and off-sale licenses Easy access for youth to alcohol from retail sources High rates of Part 1 and 2 crimes requiring police response in areas of high concentrations of licenses Problems related to social sources of alcohol: Adult/peer social hosts for drinking parties where binge and underage drinking occur Public events that offer easy access to alcohol for minors and over consumption of alcohol for minors and adults 8. Expected Outcomes Retail Alcohol Outlets: -Reductions in problems associated with sales/provisions of alcohol to minors & sales to intoxicated persons -Increased compliance with Retail Operating Standards (ROS); decrease in sales to minors, vandalism, fights, other crime related to off-sale outlets -Increased compliance with conditions of operation; reduced crime related to outlets -Lower density of outlets across municipalities 4

-Improved safety around hotspots -Reductions in arrests for obvious intoxication in hotspot areas -Improved perception of former hotspots by community residents Social /Residential Settings: -Reductions in problems associated with drinking parties -Reductions in number of adults / peers who host drinking parties where binge & underage drinking occur -Reductions in problems associated with drinking parties in rented/leased housing Sonoma State University Campus: -Reductions in referrals to SSU Office of Judicial Affairs -Reductions in binge drinking & related problems among SSU students Public Events: -Reduction in sales to minors & intoxicated persons at public events -Reduced alcohol consumption at public events -Reductions in problems such as: binge drinking, fights, DUI crashes, injuries & need for police services -Increased participation of children & families at events with increased perception of events as family-friendly Community Capacity: -Increased capacity for sustaining efforts of the SCCP after termination of SIG funding -Increased ownership of local issues & commitment to vigilance to maintain gains made by SCCP efforts 5
