GENERAL INFORMATION The s Center for Vascular Disease is pleased to invite you to The Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Vascular Conference on Friday, March 7th at the Prentice Women s Hospital Conference Center. This half-day event is a clinically oriented program with case-based discussions about the management of patients with vascular disease. The afternoon will consist of lively discussions about management decisions that are encountered in the everyday care of vascular disease Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Summarize the current guidelines and provide insight on the anticipated new guidelines for lipid management and treatment of resistant hypertension Describe effective and novel strategies for the treatment of obesity Design a strategy for the diagnosis and management of patients with aortic disease including genetic counseling Discuss the surgical approaches to aortic disease including patient selection criteria and timing of referral Review the indications, limitations and advances of imaging techniques in the assessment of aortic disease Recognize the significance of peripheral vascular disease in the diabetic patient. Target Audience This continuing medical education (CME) program is designed to meet the educational needs of internists, primary care practitioners, family medicine and vascular medicine physicians, cardiologists, neurologists, interventional radiologists, endocrinologists, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants and health care professionals caring for patients with vascular disease. Conference Location The program will be held at Prentice Women s Hospital, located in the Conference Room on the third floor at 250 E. Superior Street, Chicago, Illinois. Accreditation Statement The is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Hour Statement The designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Faculty Disclosure Current guidelines state that participants in CME activities should be made aware of any affiliation or financial interest that may affect a speaker s presentation.
