Did you know that three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health condition? Why does our work matter? 1 in 10 children and young people, aged 5-16, suffer from a diagnosable mental health problem such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. That s around 3 children in every classroom. 10% of young people deliberately harm themselves regularly. Half of all mental health problems manifest by the age of 14, with 75% by age 24. 10 means we can help 1,000 young people understand their mental health medication, through our HeadMeds website 20 means we can provide urgent support to ten parents when they have nowhere else to turn, through our Parents Helpline 50 means we can give a young person the skills and confidence to share their experiences of mental health with politicians or in the media 8
