Behavioral Health Readmissions Patients hospitalized for a behavioral health condition are more likely to be readmitted than other types of patients In 2015, there were 7,144 readmissions for patients who were previously hospitalized with a behavioral health primary diagnosis The readmission rate for these patients was 16.3 compared to a readmission rate of 12.8 for nonbehavioral health patients 11
