Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease Situation Update 24 February 215 Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease surveillance summary This surveillance summary includes information from countries where transmission of Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease (HFMD) occurs and case counts are routinely reported. Northern Hemisphere China The monthly trend of HFMD cases in China follows the seasonal pattern (Figure 1). However, it is slightly elevated compared to the number reported in the previous three years (Figure 2). Singapore The number of cases reported is similar to the number in 212, but higher than the number reported during the same period in 213 and 214 (Figure 5). Since beginning 215, the number of cases were 4,265 cases, including two deaths (Dong Thap 1; Hau Giang 1 reported from the previous week) increased 9.1% compared to the same period of 214. 72.8 % of cases were reported from the south with 1 leading provinces on the number of case per 1, populations: Bac Lieu 17.1; Da Nang 36.8; Dong Thap 14.4; Ba ria Vung Tau 14; Ben Tre 13.5; Dong Nai 11.6; Long An 11; Vinh Long 9.1; Ca Mau 8.2; and Phu Yen 6.9 (Figure 6).
