ITL PUBLIC SCHOOL presents Holiday Homework 2016

Dear Parents Greetings! John. F. Kennedy states, Physical fitness is not only one of the important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic, creative, intellectual activity. The long awaited Summer Holidays is finally here. Summer Vacations!! You will all agree is synonymous with peace, rest, relaxation, recreation, honing of hobbies, socializing, indulging in new pursuits. ITL has always been a motivating partner of growth and development in the lives of the students.so this summer holiday homework is aimed at sensitizing and creating awareness among ITLeens to realize and comprehend the pivotal role of food for a happy and successful life. A study into the health issues of the Indians reveals a very grim, unfortunate reality. India is the capital of lifestyle diseases like obesity, hypertension, high blood sugar level, high cholesterol levels, cervical spondilitis etc. The present generation should shoulder the mammoth responsibility to revert this statistical record. We expect every ITLeen to emerge out as a health conscious individual. For that, the school is conducting a wide survey on food habits of school students where each class is going to do an in-depth research work on the essence of good food and healthy living. The research work will be analyzed and the result will be shared with the parents. The children can best comprehend the value of health only when parents inculcate the significance of food in their ward. The interdisciplinary Holiday Homework will surely have positive impact on your children as a part of growing up of children in creating the food habits that will follow your children throughout their lifetime So, it s a humble request to parents to take a positive interest, as the wards learn a lot when the children learn by doing. In fact, your involvement too will add an element of fun and excitement to the project work. We bet that you will be thrilled and excited at the interesting revelation on health topics. At our end the teaching and non teaching staff will be submitting the reports. It would be appreciated if parents also take the initiative to get the following tests done for a healthy life. BMI Calculation Haemoglobin VIT D Cholesterol etc. Together we can help in making them health conscious individuals and we can proudly boast of creating a healthier India.

Class V ROAD SAFETY Use your creativity to make an interesting A3 size scrap file to depict the following: A road safety publicity campaign is part of a set of activities that aim to promote safe road use. Campaigns are of three types: 1. To raise awareness of an issue or to inform (for example about new laws) 2. To change attitudes (for example to improve public acceptance of road safety measures) 3. To change behaviour, as part of a package of measures (for example engineering and/or enforcement related to speeding). Delhi government has come up with interesting and attractive advertising campaigns for improving road safety. Collect pictures of such advertisements from newspapers and magazines and paste them. Design your own road safety advertisement about the importance of driving slowly and safely when kids are around in your scrap book. Collect information and pictures on Traffic laws, emergency medical services and pedestrian safety manuals which are applicable for Delhi and paste them. Many people do not follow the traffic laws and park their vehicles as per their convenience which results in traffic jams and causes inconvenience to general public. The solution to this is proper Parkings. Draw angle parking or perpendicular parking to avoid chaos in parking spaces. Compare and suggest which parking among them is better and why? Write a satirical poem in Hindi on the people who do not follow Parking rules. Draw/Paste picture of road crossing of some foreign country and label the avenues, road safety signs and vehicles and write these in French/ Sanskrit.
