When one hears about water they would never think of it as the best weight loss supplement available today. When was the last time you saw commercial pushing water as a weight loss supplement? One reason perhaps is because it is difficult to make money off of water. Water contains no sugar, no calories, very little sodium no caffeine and it is free. WHY WATER IS A GREAT DIET SUPPLEMENT Water is a natural appetite suppressant. Drinking more water will cause you to feel more full thus you will eat less. If you drink a glass of water before you eat you will find yourself eating less. The liver aids in metabolizing fats. The liver causes the fat to turn to energy and then get burned, helping you to lose fat. Another function of the liver is to assist the kidneys when they need help. This occurs if the body does not have enough water. The kidneys cannot function at 100% and need the liver to assist. If the liver is helping the kidneys, it cannot metabolize the fat efficiently so less fat is burned. If the body has enough water, the kidneys will not need the liver to help out thus the liver can just concentrate on metabolizing

fat to be burned. Because of this, water helps in metabolizing fats, in addition, it increases the efficiency of proteins and enzymes, which is essential to your metabolism. Water is the fuel that drives your metabolism. It is your metabolism that burns calories. If you don t drink enough water you will burn less calories. In the beginning of any weight loss process, one of the first things that are lost is water. The water you are losing is not the same water you lose when you sweat. It is water that has been stored in the body over time. If you don t drink a lot of water your body will store water, making you retain water. By drinking plenty of water you rid yourself of this excess stored water, which will not come back as long as you keep drinking a lot of water. When trying to lose weight, it is not only important to lose fat but also to lose the excess water that has been stored over time. So when someone says you are only losing water at first in your diet, this is a actually a good thing. If you don t drink a lot of water when you diet you will not rid yourself of the stored excess water. It is not only fat that makes us look heavier but also stored water. When you do start drinking a lot of water you will be running to the bathroom a lot for about two weeks. Your body is flushing out water that has been stored for a long time. It is ridding itself of

what it does not need. You will get rid of water that was being held in your ankles, knees, hips and stomach area. The urge to go to the bathroom will eventually stop when your body balances the right amount of water that it needs. If you do not drink enough water you become dehydrated and your metabolism will shut down. Water is also very important for digestion and elimination. When you don t have enough water for digestion, you will not be absorbing the nutrients needed by the body. If your body doesn t get enough nutrients it will crave more food until it gets the needed nutrients. This is especially true if you are not getting certain minerals. Your body will have very strong cravings for the wrong kind of foods. Water also improves muscle tone. If you aren t getting enough water, you will not see the proper muscle tone no matter how hard or intense you train. When the muscles have all the water they need, they will contract more easily and more efficiently. Most experts say that cold water is better for you. It gets absorbed quicker and there is evidence that by drinking cold water

it might enhance fat burning. The body needs to burn calories to warm the cold water coming into the body. Your brain doesn t differentiate the difference of being hungry and being thirsty. When you are hungry your body may really need water. If you do not drink enough water there is a chance that your hunger pangs are actually the body saying it needs more water. So if you are not drinking alot of water the next time you feel hungry, drink some water. You may be surprised that you are not hungry anymore. This is known as Fake Hunger where your body sends out signals that get confused and most people will reach for food instead of water. Avoid both artificially sweetened and sweetened drinks. By drinking just plain water you will taste your food better rather then always tasting the sugar in your drink. Your palate will be more satisfied drinking plain water appreciating the natural sweeteners in your food. The whole foods that you are eating will taste sweeter and be more satisfying, preventing you from craving the processed and artificial sweeteners.

Diet drinks and sugary drinks make you hungrier, without any satisfaction causing you to eat more. Drink plenty of fresh water with your meal and you will eat less. Water helps the liver to stay focused so it can metabolize as much fat as possible to be burned. 3. Drinking plenty of water stops the body from storing water, which can be dangerous for the body but also adds inches to it as well. 4. The more plain water you drink, the less sugary and artificially flavored drinks you will have. This will prevent weight gain. 5. Water aids in digestion and absorption. You will reap the benefits that you need from your food. Your body will not be craving more food if it is getting the needed nutrients.

WHEN TO DRINK WATER 1. When you first wake up in the morning you should have a large glass of water. Your body loses water while you are sleeping. Drinking water in the morning will give you more energy. 2. Have another glass of water with breakfast. 3. Drink one to two glasses of water 15-30 minutes before a meal. If the body really just needs water and not food you will not have hunger pangs after you drink the water. Drink water throughout the day. Try not to drink too much in one sitting. The more water you drink, the more weight you will lose. Water is hands down the best and healthiest weight loss supplement out there and it is free.
