ANGLIAN HEARING HEALTHCARE WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT Anglian Hearing Healthcare is a fully independent audiology practice providing a comprehensive range of services - all delivered by our experienced and professional staff. Based in Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Anglian Hearing Healthcare is the only hearing healthcare practice in the UK to provide a complete range of audiological services - from hearing instruments to hearing therapy. Our Practice was established in 1995 by NHS clinical audiologists as it became evident that many patients did not wish to join the NHS waiting list to obtain a hearing aid or, found that the NHS aid they were supplied did not sufficiently meet their needs, or expectations. Many individuals seeking subsequent auditory rehabilitation in the private sector were not able to find a comprehensive or appropriate range of care from a single point of contact. Often, patients were forced to rely upon shop based salesmen who were unable to offer either clinical support or an impartial range of solutions. Patients recounting numerous tales about the lack of an appropriate private and professional service was the catalyst for the inception of Anglian Hearing Healthcare - the regions only hospital and clinic based practice, working in the private sector. Anglian Hearing Healthcare is staffed by highly qualified clinically trained audiologists and hearing aid specialists, offering totally impartial advice and assistance to anyone enquiring about hearing healthcare.

At Anglian Hearing Healthcare we have an international reputation and over 45 years experience. With the support of local senior ENT consultants, medical personnel and professionals in the field, we pride ourselves on our knowledge as hearing therapists, hearing aid specialists and experts in acoustics and noise level management. We are the regions only practice that can offer: A hospital or clinic base No lengthy waiting lists A unique dedicated tinnitus management clinic Staff who are clinical audiologists, hearing therapists, and hearing aid specialists Support from the regions NHS and private sector ENT consultants Rapid access to specialist digital instruments and surgically implanted devices Recognition internationally as experts in hearing conservation and rehabilitation.

TINNITUS MANAGEMENT CLINIC We find that many tinnitus sufferers have been told, Nothing can be done, it is something you ll just have to live with. Whilst it is true that we do not definitively understand the complexities involved with the emergence of tinnitus. The excepted theories for the reasons behind its perception offer us a very plausible model. Allowing us to create structured, reasoned and successful therapeutic strategies. There are many techniques offered by Anglian Hearing Healthcare to help relieve the distress that tinnitus can cause. Sometimes we can effect its complete inhibition. Our experience in audiology has determined that tinnitus sufferers and the problems they may encounter may not always be offered the same priority as those with hearing loss, or other auditory disorders. Realisation that there are few audiological disorders or illnesses that could have such a profound effect a person s every day life led us to establish this unique tinnitus management clinic. The clinic consultations are carried out by clinical audiologists with over 45 year s experience. We are pleased that Mike Horwood, hearing therapist is one of the driving forces behind this service. Mike s track record as an audiologist and hearing therapist has seen him play a crucial part in developing hearing therapy in the region s hospitals. As an expert in this field of tinnitus management we are delighted to have his support, expertise and clinical input. We also have the support of the local ENT consultant surgeons whose skills are invaluable for the diagnosis and treatment of certain conditions while, also offering a rapid and effective referral system for our patients.

Our clinics have access to both the latest proven technologies and therapies in addition to the more traditional methods such as Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. Anglian Hearing Healthcare offers an incomparable range of services which we will continue to monitor and develop. Our ethos is to take a holistic approach when assessing a patient. Looking at their life-style, both social and vocational, their diet, and all aspects of their life. Our approach has led to encouraging results and patient endorsements: I was overjoyed that immediately my tinnitus disappeared and I could hear clearly again. I now have a full night s uninterrupted sleep, instead of waking every morning in the early hours, now I have to be woken with a cup of tea in the morning. Mrs Jean Smith - Great Yarmouth I had the right advice and understanding of my problems and now some days my tinnitus is completely gone. I have help at hand and I lead a better and more fulfilling life. Mr K. Rudling - Wymondham It has improved now to the point I no longer feel as if the rest of my life will be dominated by the ringing in my ears. In conjunction with the treatment for the tinnitus, as a consequence of other advice and help you provided I get very few headaches now, which is great. I can thoroughly endorse the therapy, and I will always be eternally grateful to you. Mr S. Whiskerd - Norwich Our aim is to help increase understanding of this sometimes devastating condition. With that aim in mind, we would welcome interest from clinicians, patients or friends and families of sufferers who wish to be better informed about the nature and treatment of tinnitus. We will be holding discussion seminars at our clinics, with the hope that by better informing everyone as to the techniques available for tinnitus sufferers. The Nothing can be done, learn to live with it response will become a thing of the past.
