Clinical sessions in recession coverage at teeth and implants Main sponsors:
Clinical sessions in recession coverage at teeth and implants It is an honour for us to present this joint SEPA-SIdP symposium, that will explore the state-of-the art of the surgical mucogingival therapy around teeth and implants, under the umbrella of the institutional co-operation between scientific societies that aim to develop clinical practice in Periodontology for the benefit of our patients. The programme will be divided into two sessions. On Friday 23 November, there will be three theoretical-practical workshops in which participants will be able to learn, under the close supervision of the lecturers, specific surgical techniques. Whereas, on Saturday 24 November, numerous SEPA and SIdP experts will share with the audience different clinical situations and their surgical approaches in order to discuss all the details of their surgical procedures. We believe that this is a unique opportunity to update your knowledge on the fascinating field of muco-gingival surgery. We are looking forward to seeing you in! Friday November 23. 14.00-19.30 WORKSHOP 1 TUNNEL TREATMENT OF MULTIPLE ADJACENT GINGIVAL RECESSIONS The appearance of multiple adjacent gingival recessions is a big challenge both for the patient and the professional. At present, there are two surgical techniques designed for their treatment: the tunnelled subepithelial graft and the coronally advanced ap. Both require a good donor sample of connective tissue obtained from the palatal masticatory mucosa. The aim of this workshop is to describe the tunnel technique, together with the surgical details in the design and in obtaining donor tissue that lead to the treatment s success. After completing the workshop, participants will understand the indications, the sequence of the treatment, the technique for obtaining a tunnelled recipient bed of partial thickness, the zone of the palate that is suitable for obtaining the donor tissue, as well as the instruments and sutures that are required. Ion Zabalegui WORKSHOP 2 SOFT TISSUE AUGMENTATION AROUND IMPLANTS The careful management of soft tissue around implants is considered a key factor to obtain aesthetic outcomes and to support long-term maintenance. Different surgical strategies are useful to improve the amount of keratinized tissue around dental implants, including the use of pedicle flaps and soft tissue grafts. The aim of the present hands on workshop is to evaluate the clinica efficacy surgical procedures and to test with specific practical exercises the most common techniques for soft tissue augmentation at implant sites. Francesco Cairo WORKSHOP 3 CORONALLY ADVANCED FLAP This hands on course will be on the details in surgical techniques, focusing on incision and suturing and analysing the site site in order to understand when is it necessary to add a connective tissue graft, or biomaterials, to improve the clinical outcome.
