Educational Objectives The Swiss Head and Neck Dissection Course 2018 is a two day intensive course and will be hold under the direction of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Inselspital and the Institute of Anatomy, University of Bern in collaboration with the Swiss Working Group of Head and Neck Surgery. It includes instructional sessions, supervised cadaver dissection (two participants per cadaver) and expert panel discussions. A major feature is to investigate the anatomy relevant to an array of head and neck surgical procedures on cadavers which have been specifically prepared by Thiel method to preserve tissue planes and simulate real surgery. Lectures will cover the theoretical background and frame the individual dissection sessions. This course is designed to give maximal exposure of the faculty to the participants in the anatomy lab, with ample time to learn the details of the surgical management of head and neck surgery, dedicated to standard procedures and tumor ablative techniques. It is appropriate for surgeons in training. The official course language is English.
