Evans annual Pumpkin Carving Event will be held: Thursday, 10/30/14 starting at 6:30! 6:30 7:45: Pumpkin Carving in the All Purpose Room 7:00 8:00: Face Painting and Games 8:00: Pumpkin Lighting Ceremony 8:15 8:30: Pumpkin Carving Contest (prizes given out!) DJ Bishop will be providing entertainment all night long! Snacks will also be provided! Everyone must bring their own pumpkin cleaned out inside and ready to carve. Tools and Stencils for carving pumpkins will be provided to use. We are looking for volunteers to assist with some items during the night of the event. Please click HERE for sign-up!

Evans Recess Runners We have Pumpkin Tokens! For the last two weeks of October the children will be able to earn a pumpkin token for Halloween! The leaf tokens will start falling the first week of November! Attention 4 th Graders! The Turkey Trot is 4 weeks away. Are you ready? The best way to train for the Turkey Trot is to participate in Recess Runners! The Recess Runners loop is just a bit longer so you need to be able to run continuously for one lap. Who s taking home the turkey this year? The November sign up for Recess Runners is live! If you love running and exercise, love hanging out with kids or want to see your kid in action and are available on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10:45am-1:00pm please sign up to help here! We need at least 4 volunteers to run it effectively. You may bring your younger children with you. If you are not available for the entire time frame but would like to come cheer your child on or run with your child during his/her lunch period only please email Beth Cribben at bcribben@verizon.net with the day that you would like to come in so that we know you are coming and can manage the number of additional parents that may come on a given day. Halloween Candy drive Join us in our annual Halloween Candy Drive! We are once again participating in the Halloween Candy Buy Back program through Monokian Family Dentistry in Marlton. All candy collected will be donated to Operation Gratitude for care packages that will be sent to our military troops and their families. Drug Awareness Week at Evans 10/27 10/31 Here at Evans School we have planned a week of activities to promote a drug free life by encouraging thoughtful decisions, good character, and a healthy lifestyle. We are hoping for 100% participation this week. ****In addition, we are inviting students to complete one of the Drug Awareness projects listed below. All participants will get a chance to win a Drug Awareness Prize. One winner from each grade level will win a WAWA gift card. This project is optional but encouraged. All projects should be labeled with a name, grade, and teacher. Projects should be neatly written and/or colored. Projects are due to the office by Friday, October 31. Winners will be chosen and prizes will be given out the week of November 3. Possible projects: Small drug awareness poster or banner that urges people to be drug free. Design a drug awareness book mark or red ribbon Make a list of 10 things you would like to learn or be drug free! List 20 things you would rather do than drugs. Write a short essay about choosing a healthy lifestyle instead of drugs. Write a letter to a friend convincing them not to get involved with drugs. Design a t-shirt with a drug free slogan Write a poem or song about being drug free. Theme Days Monday, October 27: Peace, love and say no to Drugs! Wear tie dye shirts, peace signs, 60 s apparel. Tuesday, October 28: We May be Crazy- but We Won t Do Drugs!- It s crazy hair day ( no wigs or hats that day!) Wednesday, October 29: Give Drugs the Boot and say Howdy to a Drug Free Future!- Dress like a cowboy or cowgirl. Thursday, October 30: Spot Me Being Drug Free and Hats Off to a Drug Free Life! Wear a hat or cap, and/ or polka dot shirt/clothes. Friday, October 31: Drugs Are SCARY!!!!! Bring your Halloween costume to school. We are looking forward to 100% participation from our students.
