Small Intestine Organ Patterns o Abdominal Pain is the key symptom of Small Intestine organ pathologies. o In modern day practice this often presents clinically with celiacs, colitis, Chrohns and other inflammatory or autoimmune conditions. o Small Intestine Patterns are usually linked with a pathology of another organ such as the Spleen, Liver or Heart. Full Heat in the Small Intestine Abdominal pain Tongue ulcers Scanty dark painful urination Thirst for cold liquids Mental restlessness Insomnia Deafness Uncomfortable feeling & heat in chest Small Intestine Qi pain Lower abdominal twisting pain (which may extend to the back) Abdominal distention Dislike of pressure on the abdomen Borborygmi Flatulence which relieves abdominal pain Pain in the testis Small Intestine Qi tied Severe abdominal pain Dislike of pressure Abdominal distention Constipation Vomiting Borborygmi Flatulence Acute T: Red with redder swollen tip & yellow coating. P: Overflowing & Rapid esp. in front left. If urinary symptoms are involved the left rear position may be wiry. Treatment Principle: Drain Heart and Small Intestine Fire T: White coating. P: Deep & wiry esp. rear positions. Treatment Principle: Move Small Intestine Qi, promote the smooth flow of Liver Qi. T: Thick white coating. P: Deep & wiry. Infestation of worms in the Small Intestine Abdominal pain & distention Bad taste in the mouth Sallow complexion Roundworms: abdominal pain, vomiting of round worms & cold limbs Hookworms: desire to eat strange objects such as soil, wax, etc Small Intestine deficient & cold (Linked to Spleen Yang Xu) Dull abdominal pain alleviated by pressure Desire for hot drinks Borborygmi Diarrhoea Pale & abundant urination Cold limbs Pinworms: itchy anus, worse in the evening Tapeworms: constant hunger Herbs or pharmaceutical preparations are most effective.
