Who We Are Welcome to the third annual professional development conference hosted by the Nanaimo Child Development Centre. Our non-profit agency has been a pivotal part of the community since 1967. We are dedicated to bringing about the highest level of service and support to all members of the Nanaimo community and surrounding areas. We have now expanded our service and support in the area of offering an annual professional development conference to assist professionals in enhancing their skills and abilities, based on current research and best practices. Last year s professional development conference was a huge success in part thanks to our keynote Dr. Vanessa Lapointe and the multiply workshop facilitators talking on one of the leading issues troubling our children and youth today; Attachment and Anxiety and the many trade show exhibitors that were on site throughout our event. Our keynote speaker this year is Dianne Tower on the topic of Co-Regulation and Relationships with 6 additional experienced presenters to expand on our topic of enhancing the mental health of children and youth by supporting those who work with them across all professions. We believe this will make this year another huge success as well. We would love to share this experience with you and would welcome the opportunity to partner with other agencies and companies in providing an excellent tradeshow experience for our delegates. Why We Do What We Do Every year more and more children and families are looking for support in the social services sector. They depend on social service professionals to provide the most current information and best practices the industry can offer. Practitioners in a family centered practice look for opportunities to help each and every member of a family, from the children, to the caregivers/parents, the grandparents, and even their extended family. As every professional enters the social services sector, they take on a responsibility to be the best professional they can be. It can be a challenge for each practitioner to balance family, work, friends, relationships, personal interests and still stay on top of the latest research to best support those who depend on them. Our professional development conference is designed to help clinicians, front line workers, and family members to have an avenue to receive top quality, modern day information in one convenient welcoming location. This venue also provides an excellent opportunity for networking with others and sharing knowledge, ideas and experiences. We provide top quality keynote speakers that have an array of experience and can focus the conversation on today s most complex issues. We allow our participants to choose from a range of workshops with specialized topics that are led by leading practitioners working within that field and explore exhibitors and expand their awareness and knowledge on additional services and supports for the families they serve and for their own self-care.

TESTIMONIALS I loved the interactive creative activities great promo/souvenirs Very positive, lots of movement and practicing what was being taught Love meeting like-minded people from all different professional fields Fantastic energy, fierceness for their focus, friendliness, knowledge-sharing, excellent information and stand-up activities Exceeded expectations making new connections, feeling part of something bigger, refreshed, energized and capable Practical experience hands on techniques that I can use everyday THE BENEFITS TO YOU Connect with Your Customers With the high number of products and services online and in the marketplace today, people have more options than ever before. Exhibiting at a professional development conference that resonates with a large target demographic that is aligned with your company is a great way to demonstrate that your values match theirs. Increased Awareness of Who You Are and What You have to Offer Exhibiting at a professional development conference is a great way to bring hundreds of your target markets together all at one time for you to demonstrate the value you can offer to them. With recognition throughout the conference, having your own display stand, branding on social media as well as material given out to all participants, you will be reaching an audience tailored to your product or service throughout the event. Tell your Story and Win New Customers Our Passport of Exhibitors given to each delegate, morning registration, lunch, breaks, along with having an exhibitor stand in the main area where the catered lunch for all our participants will be hosted, allows time within our conference for you to share your values and beliefs to a whole new (and existing) audience that my align with your product or service. This is allowing you to set the tone and create a positive and lasting image with your new customers and reinforces what your existing customers have come to expect from you.
