HOW TO GET INVOLVED 03 9362 8300 www.foodbankvictoria.org.au

SINCE 1930, FOODBANK IN VICTORIA HAS BEEN HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES STRUGGLING WITH HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY. As the oldest and largest provider of food relief in Australia we work with manufacturers, farmers and retailers to source and rescue food to distribute to our network of hundreds of charity partners. These partners are dotted around the state and range from large organisations such as The Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul to smaller community-run centres. With food from Foodbank, our charity partners are able to run programs that support tens of thousands of vulnerable Victorians each week. Foodbank is also the largest provider of School Breakfast Clubs anywhere in Australia, and works with the Victorian Government to ensure that primary school children don t start the day on an empty stomach. In times of disaster such as bushfire or flood, Foodbank is the lead provider of emergency food. Food is an important pillar of people s lives and access to food is something many take for granted. For someone unable to afford food for themselves or their family, it s easy to fall into despair. Providing relief in the form of food has the ability to help turn things around and change lives. There are many ways you can help Foodbank to achieve our vision of healthy food for all.

VOLUNTEER WITH FOODBANK Volunteers make up 20-25 per cent of our workforce on any given day and are the lifeblood of our operations. It is only through the countless hours donated by individuals and corporate groups that Foodbank is able to get the vast volumes of food required out into the community. Volunteering tasks can include: sorting groceries, packing food hampers and picking orders for charity partners in our warehouse volunteering at community or fundraising events sharing specialist skills in the office distributing food to disadvantaged communities at our Farms to Families pop-up markets. Volunteering has many personal benefits and also offers a great experience for corporate organisations to get involved and give back. THANKS FOR GIVING US THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WE LIVE IN! MARLON, MELBOURNE WATER THANK YOU FOR LETTING US BE A PART OF THIS GREAT ORGANISATION AND THE CARING WORK YOU DO TO SUPPORT FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES ACROSS VICTORIA. THE FOODBANK VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM IS QUITE LEGENDARY AND THE POSTER CHILD FOR VOLUNTEERING IN THE STATE. FUNDRAISE FOR FOODBANK With increasing numbers of Victorians facing food insecurity, we need more people to join the fight against hunger. We are always looking for individuals and groups to fundraise on our behalf. When you fundraise, you ll be supporting Foodbank to help more people, more of the time. The impact of a single donation can be significant. Fundraising is an opportunity to multiply that impact many times over. I CHOSE TO FUNDRAISE FOR FOODBANK BECAUSE I TRULY BELIEVE EVERY VICTORIAN DESERVES ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD AND WE SHOULD ALL WORK TO ENSURE THIS BASIC NEED IS MET FOR EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY. There are countless creative ways to raise funds: Take part in a fun run or fitness challenge do it solo or recruit a whole team Host a morning or afternoon tea in your workplace, school or community group Organise a movie night, trivia night, comedy night, or any other social night to bring together your friends, family and community Organise a fundraising day (or dedicate a week or a month) to helping raise awareness of the issue of food insecurity and hunger in Australia. There are some key periods you could time this around, such as Anti-Poverty Week and World Hunger Day in October. TO MAKE A DONATION OR FIND OUT MORE ABOUT RAISING FUNDS FOR US, CALL 03 9362 8300, EMAIL US AT FUNDRAISING@FOODBANKVICTORIA.ORG.AU ANNA HILL, ORGANISER OF RUNNERS WITH A CAUSE. PARTNER WITH FOODBANK Organisations of all sizes can make a real difference to people experiencing hunger and food insecurity in Victoria. There are many ways you can get involved on a corporate level, including volunteering, fundraising and food drives. We can also tailor opportunities to meet your corporate social responsibility objectives. CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS Foodbank Victoria partners with organisations that share in our vision, purpose and values. Our partners are crucial to assisting us to do what we do best source and distribute food to the 1 in 6 people that can t afford to put food on the table. A partnership with Foodbank ensures alignment to the largest food relief agency in Victoria and demonstrates a clear commitment to the community. We work with organisations to tailor partnerships that are mutually beneficial. We can align activities with specific programs, projects, events or campaigns and include a range of staff engagement opportunities such as corporate volunteering. Our partners are extended members of the Foodbank family and we are committed to nurturing these relationships and achieving positive outcomes together. CAUSE RELATED MARKETING Cause related marketing campaigns present a great opportunity to engage your customers in your charitable work. There is enormous potential to stimulate sales, boost market share and support your community through percentage of sales and point of sale donations. WORKPLACE GIVING Offering a Workplace Giving Program is a great way to engage your employees in the cause. It also makes it incredibly easy for them to donate directly from their pre-tax pay helping their donation go further. Dollar matching your employees gifts can also ensure the program is a success.
