casa myrna until every relationship is safe and healthy WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018 7:30-9:00 AM REVERE HOTEL 200 STUART STREET BOSTON MAMÁ. म. MAMAN. 妈妈. MOM. Whatever her children call her, every mother overcomes challenges big and small so they'll grow up happy and safe. But all too many mothers must survive an experience no one should ever have to face: protecting themselves and their families from abuse. Today, one in five children lives in a home where domestic violence took place in the last year. Since 1977, Casa Myrna has been there to help survivors and their children escape domestic violence and recover from the trauma it leaves behind. Across the decades, one thing has remained the same: how fiercely the women we serve love their children, and how dedicated they are to providing safe homes where their children will not only heal but thrive. GIVE BACK AND GET INSPIRED. Our premier annual event just a few days before Mother's Day will celebrate survivor mothers. Our program will feature uplifting insights from Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, renowned journalist and community activist Reverend Liz Walker, and a Casa Myrna survivor mother speaking out publicly for the first time. Thanks to your generosity, each night countless survivors tuck their children into bed and sleep peacefully knowing that they're safe. Our celebration of these mothers' strength won't be complete without you. Join us. Visit www.casamyrna.org/cocb2018
casa myrna until every relationship is safe and healthy UNTIL EVERY RELATIONSHIP IS SAFE AND HEALTHY Casa Myrna was founded in 1977 as just one shelter, staffed entirely by volunteers. In 2018, we re Boston s largest provider of shelter and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children, with more than 80 staff members. We also operate SafeLink (1-877-785-2020), MA's statewide domestic violence hotline, and reach thousands of teens and adults each year through our educational workshops and awarenessraising campaigns to end domestic and dating violence. We ve grown a lot, but our passion has remained the same: making sure all survivors can access the resources they need to rebuild a safe, stable, and joyful lives for themselves and their families.
