DALLAS ASSOCIATION OF HEALTH UNDERWRITERS NEWSLETTER August 2018 August 2018 Greetings and welcome to our August edition of our DAHU Newsletter. These are exciting times in our industry. The industry is constantly changing, and we must all change and keep up with the confusing, and often uncertain landscape in our Insurance World. This means our Association must change with you. This association is now one of the great ways to keep informed, listen to great programs and get recharged, network and share ideas, and through our lobbyists, both Federal and State, make sure that our voices are being heard in Washington, D. C. and in Austin. If you are not contributing to the PAC, you are letting your associates do all the heavy lifting. So, get involved, work on a committee, contribute to a PAC and remember, now more than ever, your clients need you more than ever! And let us thank God for such a great industry! Legislative Corner Congressman Sessions wrote about his visit to our August DAHU meeting: Dallas Association of Health Underwriters This week I was honored to speak alongside state legislators at the meeting of the Dallas Association of Health Underwriters. We discussed Association Health Plans, HSAs, and issues impacting healthcare in Texas. I have attended this event for several years, and I continue to be impressed by the depth and breadth of knowledge of these health care experts. During the summer recess is a great time to meet with your Congress men and women. Steve Neuner and Taylor Kirkhart visited with Representative Kenny Marchant to discuss some of the issues and problems in the Healthcare Industry. 9
