ISRAEL 2012 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women in Israel, accounting for more than 30 percent of all new cancer cases. With this alarming statistic in mind, Susan G. Komen for the Cure continues its long-term commitment to the country, dating back to 1994 when the first international Komen research grant was made in Israel. This May, Komen for the Cure will host the second annual Susan G. Komen Israel Race for the Cure in Jerusalem. One hundred percent of the funds raised through the Israel Race will go towards programs that address breast cancer and women s health needs in Israel. KOMEN ISRAEL RACE FOR THE CURE The second annual Israel Race for the Cure will be held just outside the walls of Old Jerusalem on May 3, 2012. An estimated 10,000 breast cancer advocates, survivors and supporters from around the world will walk, run and race in support of finding the cures for breast cancer. This momentous, public display of unity around a critically important cause is an established model for encouraging peaceful global health diplomacy and has proven successful in promoting breast cancer awareness around the world.
