HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control Providing a holistic approach to public health Controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS in the 21st Century is a global public health challenge, and Abt is up to the task. Our public health experts promote cutting-edge service delivery models in the global fight against HIV/AIDS, and we support the humanitarian goal of enhancing the wellbeing of people living with this disease. Abt s response to the epidemic includes: Implementing projects and programs that expand access to HIV testing, care and treatment. Strengthening health systems to provide quality services. Harnessing the private sector to complement the public sector. Providing rigorous research and evaluation of HIV prevention, care and treatment programs. Aiding governments as they set priorities and make sustainable decisions on their respective HIV/AIDS responses. SHAPED POLICIES Extending HIV Services for Working in both health facilities and community settings, we help service providers use 10+MILLION PLHIV differentiated models of service delivery, such as promoting community-based support for adherence and retention. We join technology partners in the exploration of new, low-cost, userfriendly technologies that help to better monitor viral suppression, and we support host-country governments as they integrate and transition quality HIV services into their health care systems.

Data-Driven Decision Making Turning analysis into action As donors promote the need for efficiency and the sustainability of interventions, HIV/AIDS programs must acknowledge the increasing importance of evidence-based decision making. Data and information are crucial to managing health systems and tracking international efforts to improve health outcomes. Abt has the experience necessary to collect and analyze the data that supports successful HIV/ AIDS programs over the years, we ve harnessed data to help our clients make informed decisions for many projects, including the Local Effectiveness Assessment Project, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Outcomes and the Health Finance and Governance Project. We conduct impact evaluations to estimate the causal effect of programs on key outcomes, and process evaluations to influence program learning and decision making. To ensure our data is digestible and actionable, we develop dashboards to visually depict complex information, which strengthens our clients and local counterparts capacity to use data for decision making. Our well-designed data presentations enable users to make informed decisions based on effectiveness and cost efficiency. In this age of accountability for funds spent, access to real-time, actionable data is key for decision making and program success. Cynthia Klein, Ph.D. Principal Associate/Scientist, US Health

Convening Collaborators Public and private partnership, from the local to the national levels Abt works with private and public organizations around the world. We provide capacity development and technical support to USAID missions, host-country governments and HIV implementers at all levels within the health care system. We analyze policies and regulations, and assess the political, economic, social and security contexts to best identify where the private sector can contribute. Our approach allows us to be flexible, meet local needs and promote collaboration. It also enables us to identify marketbuilding opportunities, champions and potential partners. Most importantly, it helps us design context-specific programs with realistic objectives and sustainable outcomes. The professionals on our team have dedicated their careers to developing sustainable methods for achieving better public health outcomes. Our staff have collaborated on some of the most important private sector health initiatives of the past 25 years, including USAID projects such as the Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDSFree Generation project, Social Marketing for Change, Private Sector Partnerships-One and the Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector project. TRAINED MORE THAN 3,000 WORKERS in providing HIV treatment services
