INHALATION: High concentrations of dust or mist, or sulfur dioxide released from this product, may cause nose, throat and respiratory tract irritation. Symptoms may include coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. May cause allergic respiratory reactions in some individuals. INGESTION: Harmful if swallowed. May cause mouth, throat and stomach irritation. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Ingestion may cause allergic asthmatic reactions in some individuals. EFFECTS OF CHRONIC EXPOSURE: Prolonged contact may cause severe skin irritation. Symptoms may include pain, redness, rash, and swelling. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED: May aggravate pre-existing eye, skin and respiratory conditions. Persons suffering from asthma should avoid exposure to this product. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES EYES: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water while holding eyelids apart. After initial flushing, remove any contact lenses and continue flushing for at least 15 minutes. Do not put any medication in the victim s eyes unless instructed by a physician. Get immediate medical attention. SKIN: Flush thoroughly with plenty of water, then wash with soap and water. Remove saturated clothing. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Thoroughly wash (or discard) clothing and shoes before reuse. INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give respiration; if breathing is difficult, give oxygen (by trained personnel only). Get immediate medical attention. INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Drink large quantities of water. Get immediate medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES FLASH POINT AND METHOD: Not applicable. HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Normal products of combustion (carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide), oxides of sulfur and oxides of sodium. FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Product may ignite or explode on contact with oxidizing materials. Heat may be given off on contact with water and may ignite combustible materials. FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS: This product is not flammable. As in any fire, MSHA/NIOSH approved self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective gear should be worn. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES See Section 8, Exposure Controls/Personal Protection and Section 3, Hazard Identification. Isolate spill and keep non-essential personnel from entering spill area. Avoid dust formation. Using non-metallic implements, collect by carefully scooping or shoveling into a suitable dry container. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE HANDLING: Follow label use directions. Do not mix with other chemicals unless instructed by label directions. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Minimize dust generation. Avoid breathing dust. Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash clothing and equipment before reuse. STORAGE: Keep container closed when not in use. Store in a dry area away from incompatible materials. (See Section 10, Stability and Reactivity). 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) EYE: Where eye contact is possible, wear safety glasses with side shields or chemical splash goggles (ANSI Z87.1 approved). SKIN: Where skin contact is possible, chemical-resistant clothing (e.g., gloves) should be worn. RESPIRATORY: No respiratory protection is required if general room ventilation is adequate and airborne concentrations are kept below exposure limits. When exposure limits are exceeded, use appropriate respiratory protection (NIOSH/MSHA) to prevent overexposure. For dust, use an approved dust respirator. ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Good general room ventilation is expected to be adequate. If user operations generate dust, ventilation should be used to keep airborne concentrations below exposure limits.
