Ophthalmology: Advocacy, Leadership, Legacy, and Learning Wintergreen Resort Educational Goal: Our educational goal is to identify & explore the latest developments in the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of ophthalmic conditions. After participating in this meeting, attendees should be armed with some best practices that can be readily implemented in their current practices. They should also gain an awareness of how future trends and developments will shape their future patient care and practice management endeavors. After participating in our annual scientific meeting, participants will be better able to: Identify the latest developments in the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of ophthalmic conditions. Evaluate best practices in diagnosis and management of ophthalmic conditions that the ophthalmologist can quickly implement in his practice immediately after his participation in our meeting, and in the more distant future. Relate complications of ophthalmic disease & surgery. Utilize principles of management of ophthalmic complications. Analyze advances in ophthalmic medical research and the determine implications for physicians and patients. Outline advances in the specialty areas of glaucoma, cornea, cataracts, uveitis, & diseases of the retina. Apply best practices in practice management.
