You have simply been INCREDIBLE! From all the refugees, Thank you so much Lets give even more this year! Charity Week Last total was 1421

What are our charities? We are raising money to help the side by side charity. Two years ago we developed the caravan and sent it to Calais to help unaccompanied minors. Last year we collected money, food and clothes donations. This year we are asking for donations to help those who still need it. Anything you can do to help would make a difference! We will also be donating to a second charity this year called Samuel s charity. This charity supports children in hospital often with life threatening illnesses. Take a look at the website for more information: http://samuelscharity.c o.uk/

Samuel s story At the start of September 2013 Samuel was admitted to St Georges hospital in South London. He was diagnosed with a cancer, one that is very rare Precursor T-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. This particular type had not been seen before. This meant the treatment for it wasn t black and white, and there was trial and error in the type of treatment he got. On Wednesday 22 nd January 2014, just five months after his diagnosis, Samuel lost his fight. He was 9 years old. He got very tired very easily, joint pain from the Chemo, had to take a huge amount of medicine daily along with twice daily injections that were very painful. Chemo can can also have an impact on all major organs, joints, bones and eyes as well as mental and neurological function. But throughout all of this he was an inspiration. He was still his old self chatty and friendly. What is even more amazing is that Samuel really wanted to help other kids and families in the same situation as him. He has such a big heart he started by telling off the matron of ICU, where he had been twice, that the food for kids just wasn t good enough. He also noticed that parents and families struggled while their children were in hospital, often having nowhere comfortable to sleep or even get a tea or coffee. Samuel started his charity to help really sick kids and their families get through what is most likely the worst time in their lives, to make their time more bearable and to bring some relief, fun and hope to their day, and his legacy lives on through the work the charity does, continued by his father. Samuel s Charity helps any sick children, whether in hospital or not.

WHAT DO THEY DO? Accuveins ipads, Tablets and PS Vitas Day trips and short breaks Free Wifi Free Netflix XBox s, PS Vita s and TV s Games for Xbox, Playstations, Gameboy DSs and PS Vitas Craft and Sensory equipment Electric ride-in cars kids LOVE to drive them on the wards or down to a scan or operation Sofa beds and tea/coffee for parents New Hospital Menus Redecorating wards

Putting a smile on kids in hospital I lost my son and I can never have that time again, but I promised Samuel I would keep his charity going, to help other families through such hard times, to make the time as good as it can be.
