PROJECT 90+ We have bright minds amongst our membership and are sure to find some new and innovative ways to reach out to those who share our passion and want to serve the community! BUSINESS AWARDS DINNER FOR NORTH SHORE BUSINESSES, WEDNESDAY, 15 NOVEMBER, 2017 The annual Northshore Business Awards recognizes The Rotary Club of North Sydney as a major sponsor. PP Jenny Thomas engineers this sponsorship recognition on a yearly basis at no cost to the club! Absolutely astonishing. She was also the gracious presenter of the winners awards to several Categories. Those of us who attended witnessed an exceptionally well run event and it should also be mentioned that NORTHS chef served up some excellent food on the night! Not an easy task as several hundred attended. PRIDE OF WORKMANSHIP AWARDS NORTHBRIDGE GOLF CLUB, THURSDAY 16 NOVEMBER, 2017 A very pleasant evening was had at The Northbridge Golf Club, our club having joined forces with The Crows Nest Rotary Club and The North Sydney Sunrise Club. Two Nominees from each club meant that there were a total of 6 awardees being presented which made for a splendid evening. Special thanks to Tom Sweeney of the Crows Nest Club for organizing and conducting the evening. Also special thanks to our Jenny Thomas for organizing our club with the 2 nominees. Robert from Bravo Trattoria was nominated by Ross Waugh, whilst The Mater Hospital was nominated by David and Toni Field. All present enjoyed excellent fellowship and good food! Robert Gugliotta, Bravo Trattoria, Crows Nest. Carmel Shaw for Mater Hospital North Sydney. NEXT WEEK S MEETING We have been advised by NORTHS that next week s meeting will also need to be held in the downstairs Pantry! On account of this it was decided not to schedule a speaker. We will have an opportunity to continue with this week s discussion on our club s future. www.facebook.com/rotarynorthsydney/ For Good Food, Good Fellowship and the Opportunity to serve through Rotary, we give thanks.

Visitors & Apologies for 16th November 2017 Visitors Apologies Leave of Absence: Humour by Geoff Prichard A nice, calm, and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, I would like to buy some cyanide. The pharmacist asked, Why in the world do you need cyanide? The lady replied, I need it to poison my husband. The pharmacist s eyes got big and he exclaimed, For goodness sake! I can t give you cyanide to kill your husband Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide! The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a photo of her husband in bed with the pharmacist s wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and said, Oh! That s different. You didn t say you had a prescription. Page 5
