Notes from the Board 2018 is the year the Ohio board members are welcoming in the process called change. Inside this issue: Notes from the Board 1 Save the Dates 2 NOMINATIONS 3 FINANCIAL UPDATE 4 The changing started at the Annual Board meeting in September whereby we sadly said goodbye to our past president Nancy Brunemann, and board members Christa Hall, Kathy Welfle and Jared Foos. And we would like to say Thank you for the many years of service to your fellow professionals! We installed 3 new board members Judy Augsburger, CPA, Kathy Nash, EA and Angie Powell. This trio will help to energize and bring forth some young, experienced professionals to enable the rest of us to continue our goals. And as always, annually, the board members elect the executive board announcing Tim Bright as Treasurer, Terri Alley as Vice President and Valorie Long, President. OHIO BOARD CONTACT LIST 5 Welcome & Congratulations to all! In going forward we are looking at the changes to the role of a tax professional; the strategic planning for educating the tax professional; and maintaining balance between clients, various tax agencies rules and IRS regulations. And in the end, keeping costs as low as possible without compromising quality. C - Chapter Board Members H - Helping A - All N- NATP members G - Gain E - Education As always, please feel free to contact any board member to share your ideas on educational needs!

Please note if you have applied in the past and have not been elected, please do not let that discourage you from applying again. All applications will be collected and placed in our vetting process. We look forward to hearing from you! Janice Harshman, Nomination Committee Chairman DUE DATE JULY 15, 2018 2018 Application Form Ohio Chapter, NATP Board of Directors I,, would like to be a candidate for the Ohio Chapter, NATP Board of Directors. Street Address: City: State: Zip: Best Phone # E-Mail address: Signature: Date: Please submit a brief biography describing yourself, any achievements, activities, offices held, and professional designations as this will be used when presenting your application to the Nominations committee. Please forward this form to: jharshman@mccrate.com

Page 4 From Tim Bright, Treasurer 2017 was a better year financially for the chapter. Previously the board made adjustments that are starting to show up on the bottom line. We know we have competition from all sides - webinars, other professional tax groups and even from ourselves. But in the end the value added by attending a local conference in person is not one that can always be measured in dollars and sense. The value of peer to peer networking and engaging in live conversations with other professionals is almost unmeasurable. Some of the most basic answers to the toughest problems can be solved by simply talking to another human being. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. my1040@ymail.com
