We value our role in contributing to better quality and more wholesome menu options for our nation s children. Regulation Expertise Collaboration with our customers is vital to developing and sourcing products that meet the USDA regulations while still matching the nutritional trends, consumer preferences and tight budgets of our customers. In the K-12 world, the USDA regulations aim to improve the nutritional content in school meals: Ensuring that students are offered both fruits and vegetables every day of the week Substantially increasing whole grain food options Limiting calories based on the age of children being served to ensure proper portion size Increasing the focus on reducing the amounts of saturated fat, trans fats and sodium We value our role in contributing to better quality and more wholesome menu options for students across the nation. K-12 Product Innovation Over time things change - a regulation here, an emerging food trend there. We understand the need to shake up the apple cart and develop new ideas, formulations and products that exceed our customers expectations. We dedicate time, effort and financial resources to bring food scientists, dietitians, chefs and food sourcing experts to the table to develop, test and refine products that fulfill specialized school requirements.

We help K-12 schools benefit from the USDA commodity program by adding value to raw, hard-to-use, donated food. We take pride in sharing our expertise to help schools navigate the process, set up appropriate contracts and fulfill them by manufacturing and delivering single-serving products to be used in food service programs. Benefits include: Freedom to place orders on your schedule, from single orders to the entire year Commodity offerings that suit a school s needs Front load ordering once the USDA purchase is verified Minimized time from diversion to production New product development to help schools utilize their hard to use commodities 100% guarantee on your products Be a Commodity Superhero Watch the full video at: www.nationalfoodgroup.com/programs/commodity-processing.html

Diverting is as easy as 1, 2, 3 Step 1 - Select Your Commodity Options Decide which National Food Group items you would like to offer next school year: Unsweetened applesauce cups Blenderz cups Flavored applesauce cups Diced fruit cups Cocoa Cherry nutrition bars Whole grain pasta String or shredded cheese Cheesy or stuffed breadsticks Step 2 - Contact Your Representative The diversion process can be confusing, but we have good news! We are here to help you through the ins and outs, and make the diversion process easy. Ask us for our commodity calculator worksheet to help determine your commodity usage, and we ll ensure you get the most from your entitlement dollars. Step 3 - Divert Your Entitlement Log in to your state or co-op food distribution website or WBSCM. Using the commodity codes found in our Nutrition Data Booklet or supplied by your National Food Group representative, divert your commodities based on your commodity calculator worksheet. Once your state agency submits your order and the USDA has purchased the commodity, your distributor or National Food Group representative will contact you about placing an order. Remember to check your commodity balances on www.processorlink.com.
