PRAIRIE STAR RANCH Prairie Star Under the Stars A Spiritual Campout Experience Saturday September 23 rd at 10:00 am Sunday September 24 th at 9:00 am All high school youth groups and any families are invited for only $7 per person Schedule of the Day 10:00 am Gates and Hospitality/Registration Table Open Upon arrival, please check in and turn in your forms and payment at the hospitality table in front of the Main Lodge. There you will receive a packet that includes prayer guides, maps, and other helpful tools. This is a good time to set up camp at a spot of your choice and eat lunch before the afternoon activities begin. Hiking, fishing, prayer experiences, and the 300 acres of God s natural beauty will be available to you for the whole day. 12:30 pm Canoeing, Archery, and Climbing Tower Open Available until 3:30 pm, your group may participate in these activities on your own time. Lifejackets and all necessary safety equipment will be provided. 3:40 pm GaGa Ball Tournament! Sign up at the Hospitality Table to compete in the 4 th Annual GaGa Ball Tournament! 4:30 pm Taizé and Veneration of the Saints in the St. Kateri Chapel Available from 4:30 5:00, Icons and Relics surrounded with beautiful music and candles will be available for prayer and veneration. At 4:30 pm, there will be an explanation of this type of prayer. In this prayerful atmosphere, your group has the opportunity to grow closer to one another and Christ through the Saints of our Church. 5:00 pm Evening Prayer in the Holy Family Grotto An opportunity to join the Church in mutual prayer through Liturgy of the Hours. 5:30 pm Dinner Prep Please bring your own food. It may be as extravagant as cast iron meals or as simple as hot dogs and chips. Cooking fires must be contained in approved fire pits. 6:00 pm Dinner Time 7:00 pm Confessions and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament All groups are invited to partake in the Sacrament of Confession and spend time in Adoration. Arrive early for Confession as the lines can get long. 8:00 pm Holy Mass Immediately following Confession, we will celebrate the Vigil Mass (counts for Sunday obligation). 9:00 pm Guided Star Gazing and Campsite Time You have the option of learning the summer constellations at Omega Field with the Retreat Team, spending time in fellowship at your own campsite, or both! 12:00 am Campsites Quiet 2:00 am Campsites Silent 8:00 am Morning Prayer in the Holy Family Grotto An opportunity to end your time at Prairie Star Ranch in mutual prayer with the Church through Liturgy of the Hours. 9:00 am Family Day at Prairie Star Ranch Begins What is Prairie Star Under the Stars? This event gives your high school youth group or any family the opportunity to experience Our Lord in the midst of nature while having a blast in Canoes, on the Climbing Tower, at Confession by the lake, or many of our other adventure activities. Your group may come, pitch your tents, and get ready to have a great time in fellowship, participating in the numerous activities available throughout the day. Prairie Star Under the Stars Registration Form Policies and Code of Conducts We want everyone participating in Prairie Star Under the Stars to have an incredible experience here at Prairie Star Ranch. To ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all, these policies have been developed for everyone, youth and adults, to abide by. Please make yourself familiar with them. Every participant, youth and adult, must have read and signed them. You may return the signed policies with the registrations. Thank you! 1. All participants, regardless of age, will not use or have in their possession any drugs, guns, weapons, or alcohol. Violation will result in the removal from premises by law enforcement. 2. Under age participants will not use or possess tobacco products. All participants, regardless of age, will not use tobacco products outside of the designated area. Participants over the age of 18 may use tobacco products at the back of the Hangar. This includes cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, etc. Evidence of infraction is at the discretion of sponsors. 3. There will be no coed sleeping arrangements with the sole exception of immediate family. With that exception, no one is allowed in a tent of the opposite gender at any time. The principles of Virtus must be upheld during your stay. 4. All participants must be in their tents from 2:00 am to 5:00 am. This is to respect the privacy and rest of other participants. 5. Please respect the Quiet Hours, which will be from 12:00 am to 2:00 am and Silent Time is from 2:00 am to 6:00 am. 6. All participants will show respect and courtesy for others and their property including the sponsors. 7. Event sponsors reserve the right to search luggage and tents at any time to prevent or as a result of policy violations. 8. Please use the extra outdoor restrooms that have been placed around Prairie Star, which have been provided to keep the cost of the retreat down. There will be outdoor washing instructions in the Informational Booklet which all groups receive upon arrival. 9. To keep the space sacred and give respect where it is due, groups may only use the Chapel restrooms during the times which they are using the Chapel and not for brushing teeth, washing the face, or other uses outside of a regular restroom use. 10. Swimming is prohibited throughout the event. 11. You may enjoy fishing during this event, but please note that all fishing is catch and release. 12. All ground fires must be in a Prairie Star Ranch approved fire ring, a number of which are established throughout property and camp sites. Groups may use camp stoves and lanterns in campsites without fire rings, keeping in mind that safety is paramount. 13. All meals are the responsibility of the participating groups and may be as simple or as elaborate as they choose. 14. Keeping God s creation beautiful is a part of our mission at Prairie Star Ranch. That being said, cleanliness is important to its staff and visitors. Please, pick up after yourselves in all areas and take all precautions to leave no trace. A dumpster is available in front of the Main Lodge. 15. Chaperons of the group are solely responsible for making sure that their group members are abiding by these policies. The whereabouts and safety of the youth (physical, emotional, and spiritual) is under their care. I have read and understood these policies and I understand that violation of any of these policies may result in my removal from the event. I agree that by participating in the Prairie Star Under the Stars event I will follow them for the safety and enjoyment of the others participants on property.

In signing this health form, I hereby certify that the information is correct and give permission for the release of medical records to an attending physician in case of illness or emergency. I understand that I will receive no compensation, should any photograph of my family be used. The activities may include, but are not limited to, outdoor camping, hiking, fire building, Climbing Tower, Canoeing, fishing, group games, and numerous catholic prayer experiences.
